update when i use the unfused side of the dmm i get 250ma why is this different. shouldnt the out voltage be higher than 2

Well if it makes you feel any better you said AA or AAA and they had a AAA 6cell. lol

man this is so frustrating . I just used a 9v source and i got 1.25v across the adj. and out but when i checked the current its still 208ma i don't understand what is wrong its not the 317 because i changed it out same results.

I'm i reading the earlier post right that the beam is visible can some one explain why some reds are and some not.

i think i am going to go for the 6 cell method i already have a 4cell holder so ill just go to rat shack and get one that holds two tomorrow and add it on with some double sided foam tape since they dont carry a 6 cell for AA

what type of li ion AA Will the energizer type work i thought they were 1.5 volts apiece

i just tried a silicon diode instead of the resistor for the load and got 250 ma but the out voltage was over 5.

Should i use a 9 volt then or will the drop be less with the diode since i am using a 10 ohm load now

DDL I have 5 Ohms across the adj. and a 10 Ohm test load and the results are: Output 2.34v and 208 ma

If your company is based on trust then you all should have no problem shipping one to senkat so that he can test it out. You just need to trust us before we can trust you because we are the ones that may spend alot of money. its common business knowledge.

The lm317 can handle about 30v. you will just have to add extra components to adjust it back down to the required voltage.
