    Alx's LD CURRENT DRIVER (30mA-800mA/5V-16V)

That's What I'm SAYIN'! ;) With that part count, even if the circuit is from the datasheet and thus the same, 2 people won't independently come up with the exact same routing/placement. Perhaps it should be called the 'Fakestr' driver... cheers, kernelpanic

    Alx's LD CURRENT DRIVER (30mA-800mA/5V-16V)

Hello All, For what it's worth(Which probably ain't much)- Current controlled drivers are a fairly well explored area of electronics. Most of us when designing circuits will use the reference implementation in the datasheet as a starting point. So that 2 different people came up with similar...

    2 Amp+ driver circuit needed.

Mike, The LM1587 is a good choice as well. The circuit is identical to the DDL. It's available in SMT and TO-220 package. So for 2A you'd use a 3W, 0.62 Ohm resistor... (The entire driver costs about $5 to throw together.) cheers, kernelpanic

FS: New 'Side Button' Host/Heatsink Combo Kit!

Jayrob, Received my host/heatsink today. (It actually came yesterday as I slept, signature required) As before, you've done a great job. Nice find on the host also. It's way more solid than the one bestofferbuy.com sent me... Anyway, thanks a ton! I'll post the build once it's finished...

    Curved laser beams w/o lenses

Yeah, I saw that too. Looks very cool! (Another link - Here's the same story from 'Nature') http://www.nature.com/news/2009/090409/full/news.2009.360.html cheers, kernelpanic

Tutorial - Easy MXDL 'Side Button' Laser Build!

Re: Tutorial - Easy MXDL 'Side Button' Laser Build Hello All, O.K. Bestofferbuy.com was a bait-n-switch. They sent me a different MXDL side button host. I'll post a pic later. It is a nice host and it looks like it would take a heatsink. But it's not what was advertised. (5387) It also does not...

    RED & 808nm 1-5 WATT LASER DIODES & MORE CHEAP!!~

Re: RED 635nm 1WATT LASER DIODES and OTHER STUFF C Miloš, It's my understanding that Chris bought all of Boston Lasers' inventory. He was able to answer all the questions I had and stated that specs would be included in the package. HTH, kernelpanic

Different kind of group buy?  *FEELER*

Re: Different kind of group buy? B_G - Beware of off-brand SDHC. Many of these cards were produced for branded sale but failed quality control. The rest were likely produced in factories without QC... cheers, kernelpanic

    HOW TO: 100+mW 405nm w/ 803T Dorcy Jr Laser

XaseR, It's true you want to limit the amount of heat you apply to the diode. However my experience is that the time taken to solder is more critical than the temperature of the iron. (I have actually burned out a diode trying to use a 15W iron because the time required to melt the solder was...

    Whos Used SBS Company Web?

Lamborgini8, Here's my best guess- If your company is smaller you probably used the 'power users' template to set up your users. By default the 'domain power users' group belongs to share point administrators. Thus all your users can edit each others files. To correct this, open Active...

    Whos Used SBS Company Web?

lamborgini8, Sounds like you're getting there. ;) Without seeing the actual HTML code you're using, I can't say what your issue is. You are welcome to PM me the relevant bits or post them in this thread. (If you post, redact anything that could be used to identify your company or site...)...

    Whos Used SBS Company Web?

First of all- Congratulations on getting it running! IIS issues can be a pain... As to Companyweb, the files are stored in SQL rather than the filesystem. You need frontpage to edit it directly. This isn't too bad as SBS comes with Frontpage. Simply open Frontpage and goto File->Open Web and...
