Every time i buy something off ebay, they ship it to me for 5.5$ or something. Why should it be more expensive here?

If you are going to connect it to the battery connections, and not directly to the diode, i would say.. Doesn't really matter. Connect a multimeter to your batteries while it's lasing, and check the current. I would say you would need a power adapter rated a little higher than that. Chances are...

I think IR, because when the green hit your eye your pupils will shrink, getting in less light, but with IR they stay normal, and let in more of the beam.

Great beam specs in a way that the dot of a 1mW HeNe would be visible even longer away than a 100mW diode laser?

Just a question about HeNe's.. If i got a HeNe from a old laserdisc, what could i use it for? would i need to make a driver? wouldn't it be weak? What would make me prefer it over other red lasers?

Got mine todag. powering it with a 3.7v 355mA Nokia charger 8-) That was the closest adapter i had. It does lase, and it does cut electrical tape, but it doesnt light red matches. It smokes them. When i sharpied one, it did ignite, but it did take a long time! Im gonna post a update when i get...
