does beam diameter affect brightness? for example, would a 200mw green laser with a 2mm beam diameter be less bright than one with a 1mm?

i bought 2 of rhd's mosquito modules, and a guidesman host, i would like to speak with someone that has built a guidesman, the module has a positive and negative lead (obviously) and i need to know where to solder the wires, what solder to use, etc. the module has leads from the diode pins...

im sorry if this was already posted; i couldnt find it. is it frowned upon to sell things other than lasers in the b/s/t section? the reason im asking is i was going to post a WTB thread about a OTF knife. (if you have a knife, and selling it, PM me ;) )
