    beam focus offset? HELP?

    ok does anyone know the reason for this? i have just bought this laser off deal extreme as i need it for a photography assignment at school when i bought it i received this stuffed up laser... the beam doesn't go very far, is it out of focus? heres photos of close up and far away. (not the best)...

    445nm laser using a 650nm red driver??

    is it safe or will it work if i power a 445nm laser using a red lab laser driver? or does the driver have to be specific for a 445nm laser? i am thinking about using a 1w 445nm laser diode. thnx.
