In this situation I would send it to the parents, that would then put it in their hands to give it to your friend... That way it puts some of the liability on the parents since they are the ones ultimately deciding the fate of thus said "Gift".

Nice build :beer:, I have the same one but with a 9mm 445nm diode. Regarding your issue you should send a PM over to DTR, he is always more than happy to help with any problems you may have.

@Lazerbeak - No worries none taken :). I have to admit that it is pretty funny seeing a photo of a flashlight with cops and such around it. I'm just glad we haven't had an occurrence in a while and I hope it stays it that way.

In Arizona we had a problem with a few people turning flashlights into bombs. A few people have been injured by them. To this day some thrift stores won't take in any flashlights for the fear of them exploding.

For my first build I purchased a Sky Ray Host from zerolasers. I purchased the diodes w/driver from DTR here. If I was to build this particular laser again, it would take ~1 hour.
