    New halloween store display... safe?

Definitely tried to find one. Couldn't. The closest I came was to finding similar modules with the line lenses already attached. Wasn't on a site intended for fun/display purposes.

    New halloween store display... safe?

You kinda made my point for me... I did not think from the beginning that there IS a safe method of doing what they're doing. I am not intending to build my own. Thanks!

    New halloween store display... safe?

Update: I went back and mostly chickened out. I took a couple more pictures of the modules, but there are no markings that I could see on them other than "Laser Aperture: Avoid direct eye exposure" and something else written in chinese. I wasn't brave enough to completely disassemble their...

    New halloween store display... safe?

I don't think the blink reflex is factored into the design of the installation in that the whole point is to make a cool display with fog, so to create the flat "plane" effect. I'll go back tomorrow and see about getting my fingers in there and take the module out of the clip/stand it's using. I...

    New halloween store display... safe?

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has come across a 'display'/'novelty' laser setup that shoots a blue wavelength diode module through a line generating lens that's safe at eye level? I came across this at the halloween store today. They'd created a little 'horror hallway' type thing with half a...

wavelength of 10th Doctor's sonic screwdriver?

Basically the title... I'm hoping someone out there has played with one of these blue/uv sonic screwdrivers and know what the wavelength might be. I'm looking for photoreceptors sensitive to something in the general range it might put out. Thanks...

    WTB-low power blues

Bizarre. I was just reading fark, which linked to a story about all the airport incidents over the last year or so, which had an ad that linked to this somehow... Amazon.com: Blue Laser Pointer 5mW @ 445nm: Electronics I wonder what the story with that is... Envy, I believe you're right, but...

    WTB-low power blues

Looking for a low-priced blue pointer... 473 preferred, 445 OK. 5mw 473 would be ideal. I'm looking for a "toy" vs. something I need goggles for. Have they come down in price much over the last couple years? From what I've read on here, 445nm's don't lase at the lower power levels...? Is that...

Kipkay is giving away 445nm Spyders.

A couple of years back he was on the cafepress site doing videos under a similar "pay per thousand of views." He was decimated his competition. I remember the dollar amounts were very high.

    finished phr laser..not impressed!

I have the same experience with a Daedal-built PS3 diode box/pointer. I believe he wrote down that it's 19mw, but it doesn't seem much brighter than my 9mw pointer. (I know, I know, human vision, 405nm, etc..:)) I'm a pasty fellow, so it surprised me to feel it on the inside of my wrist. If I...

    25 cent green laser 5mW!!

For that price, you're not getting the brand name, but you're still assured that standard Chinese 'Kwality'.

    BIG News: Green Laser Diodes

Re: Laser TV's... Won't that still require a DPSS for blue, or is 405nm OK for that? I'm just assuming 473nm would be better....?

Confused about night club laser shows

I've been in maybe one or two clubs that had lasers... But don't they *HAVE* to mount the mirrors X number of feet in the air? They should be visible through the fog, and nobody should be able to "look down the beam" via mirror, or head-on... ?

    New member, new build,  videos

That is fantastic! With the new movie out, I can't wait to see someone find a toy/model of the new phasers they used with the rotating emitters for stun/kill and put a blue/red in just like he had on the Romulan ship.

A whole new level of idiot

FLAG the videos. "Harmful or Dangerous acts" I guess the person in that second video can kiss the CCD in that thing goodbye

    1mW 405nm Violet Laser

Just a theory... foxy supplier builds high power pointers (this would explain the visible beam) but prints 1mW on the label, hoping customs would just believe After watching my friend deal with his (ahem) *foreign* manufacturer for the last few years, both on his stock items and a product we...

    Blue-ray laser mouse?

Geez. My logitech G5 appears to be focused @ infinite. It also darn near blinded my iphone's camera. I always figured it was focused at the desktop it was sitting on. No more staring into the little deep red, barely visible light for me...
