As you're getting into lasers, burning stuff, popping balloons etc, have you thought about trying some simple laser show effect - ie, tunnels, spirographs, searchlights. A couple of pc fans, small mirrors and other bits is all you need. (search you tube for D.I.Y laser show ;-) ) I've attached...

I got my kit today (with custom focus bezel thingy - very nice :D) I had a S06 12X 405 from DTR to throw in it but I'm saving that now for something else I'm expecting to arrive in the next day or two - so I've just ordered another one and should be able to fire this baby up in about 5 days...

I've got one running at 460mA and it works just fine (620mW peak with g2 lens). (2 x 16340's) Its very stable and doesn't even seem to get warm after 60 secs. I've got another due anyday set at 568mA that will be going with one of these 405's in a survival stainless host edit: Just thinking...

ts I've got a Moh driver and pill from a C6 that I've put in the Survival Stainless Host - it should fit without a problem. Batts - Moh's C6's/driver are supposed to run on 2 x 16340's if that info helps ;-)

I've got a 70mW 405nm that mullers black balloons at 15 feet in a second :D (one of swimminsurfers blu-rays) 405's are my fave :D

I agree with TheReddish, the battery shouldn't be getting hot. I'd stop charging and let it cool down. Then I'd probably test the laser again because there should be enough charge in the battery to do that by now. The next best step would be to buy a better battery(s) and charger. btw, is it...

Thats a good sign. If it had turned green already it would be a good bet there would have been enough charge in the battery to power the laser up properly before ;-)

The battery could have over 4v of charge in it and the red light will still come on and start charging it more. If the battery was flat it will probably take a good few hours until the light turns green. It's best not to let rechargeables drop to their lowest discharge voltage so they need...

The dot on the wall will get bigger, but the beam should be getting narrower towards the laser -focused. Don't look at the dot, look at the beam.

Carefully! I think if you need to ask, it's probably best not to tell you. t.b.h. Electricity scares the f#%k out of me, I don't want to encourage someone else who isn't too sure to start messing with it :D
