I have two diodes that i had in minimag flashlights and while focusing the positive and negative pins touched.... i got smoke and burning smell and now they will not work the same,..... they will put out an ETREMELY low amount of light.... You would think I would have learned my lesson after the...

I ordered 5 diodes from senkat, within an hour of receiving i had toasted one..... I was putting it directly in a flashlight and while focusing i twisted too much and the positive and negative pins touched..... $30 down the drain....

Got it working, it will only burn balloons and electric tape though. It is a SenKat. Is the a way that I can make it burn other things? Pics or video coming soon!

iv done that and still get no heat.... i had it on the smallest spot i possibly could, and still nothing. And btw... when I unskrew it to that point the beam get arger again...

What kind of a laser is this? What are the specs on the diode?

It looks more just like a bright green light on his face.... does not look like the eyes would be greatly effected. And that poem is great! Lolz,.

I purchased 5 senkat diodes from sales.stonetek.org and none of them would burn! Of course I was only hooking them up directly to a minimaglite though.... they are very bright... but burning, not a chance. I am buying 10 of the BlueFusion GB drivers, will this solve my problem?

Is it possible to get protective goggles for IR? I do nto think so but I would just want to be sure.

And by the way, I got some solder into the area around the anode that will not come out....

2 diodes have had this happen today, one was to one with the ring around it, the other was not. Is there a link to instructions? If not will someone post some?

I was soldering to the pins of my diode and accidentaly broke one off... :'( I cannot get the stump of the old one out and cannot solder a new one on. I am a noob and have no idea what to do in a situation like this. If you need pics I can post them.

I am going to radioshack to get the parts I need to assemble the driver, however, I do not know exactly what I need :P. Could someone list the parts to buy? Thanks!

I am looking to buy a driver for a DVD Burner diode, but $25 is a bit to high. Stonetek sells the DIY kits for $15 and they do not take that long to construct...
