    How does Variable power work

This. Most of the high power diodes (1W and higher) begin to lase at an output of 100-200mW. Heres a graph I did a while ago showing the output of an M-140 diode. As you can see the diode doesn't even begin to lase until it's given 150mA and at that current it outputs a little over 50mW and...

Price Drop! Beautifully Polished Lazerer Rifle Host

Re: FS: Beautifully Polished Lazerer Rifle Host love the host. It looks incredible.

    LEDing a diode

Anywhere from 200-400 sounds about right for a single cell. When you can I would say try running it on 2 cells and see if the output increases to "normal" levels. But everything else aside based on your raw output pic it doesn't look like you LED'd it or anything but definitely try and see if...

    LEDing a diode

you can really only tell if we see the raw diode output without the lens but based on the pics it looks fine to me. These diodes are supposed to run on 2 3.7v batteries so you're getting less than half the possible output. EDIT- Based on the raw output pic it looks like you definitely have...

I start the construction on a green 400Wcw laser!

    I have to see this.

    Lazerer needs bigger hosts!

:D Pretty much the entire time I was writing about the custom heatsink I was thinking "well I can have FP machine the heatsink for me."

    Lazerer needs bigger hosts!

I would really love to get a 500mW 532 from lazerer and at one point I did but the unit was bad and max from lazerer was great with the return process, that was about 8 months ago. Now I'm interested in possibly trying again but my biggest issue is that IMO the host for the 500mW stick is way...

Hulk Green Laser - 100mw Question

I own a hulk 100 ( outputs 213mW stable :D) and based on the reports from other owners the output on hulks can vary from one laser to another. I would have to agree with infinitus. You can try using a magnifying glass to focus it, but to be honest 100mW isn't that great for burning. The hulk...

Need to collimate the beam on my DHOM 2W 532nm lab

The beam is already collimated. I want to be able to focus it (and defocus it).

Need to collimate the beam on my DHOM 2W 532nm lab

Title pretty much says it all. I have a DHOM 2W+ 532nm labbie (purchased from meierlight) and I'd like to collimate the beam a bit and also be able to adjust it as needed. I haven't been able to find any optics packages designed to go right onto the aperture of a labbie. The diameter of the...

    Sold out please lock

Re: FS: REDUCED OverSpec 405, 532, 650 AAA Pens *405nm & Uranium Package Deals!* I purchased 2 405 pens with marbles and I am very satisfied with everything. The pens output measured at 63mW and 57mW, they had good output stability as well. The marbles are great and there are a lot of them. The...

Most Powerful Military Handheld Green Story

I remember about 10 months ago a guy had a glare mout for sale. He wanted $1,000 for it. I was so tempted to buy it, especially because he was 30 minutes away from me on Long Island. I had to control myself though. This. Obviously the rules of war are broken often enough. But the use of...

How to tighten a loose heatsink? (No set screw)

Haha I always feel the same exact way. I only go to radioshack for specific electrical components (potentiometers, test leads, battery holders, etc) but every time I walk in there I almost get frustrated. I recently went and got a few 3W pots, a project box, a TINY roll of wire, a battery holder...

DTR's Laser Shop - Laser Diodes & More

Just wanted to say that I've been buying from DTR for about a year now and he is probably the best and most reliable seller on this site. I currently have 5 builds that use DTR diodes and modules in both hand helds and labbies. I have also purchased several orders of fans, projector optics and...

How to tighten a loose heatsink? (No set screw)

Oh god please no! Don't torture the poor little guy like that, what did the laser module ever do to you!?!?! Never use normal glue or epoxy or blue-tak or feces (all the same for this application) to keep a module/heatsink in place. You need to get some arctic silver thermal epoxy. You can find...

    A whoop-ass laser host ?

I wonder what the best battery configuration would be for this host. I'm sure there would be a way to make it so you can turn the lasers on separately or all at once. Of course if you turn on all of them you would probably get about 90 seconds of run time.

    Nichia 1W @ 525nm

Hahaha. Same here. 90% of the time when I tell people how much these lasers cost they end up looking like a kid who didn't get the gift he wanted on christmas morning.

    Nichia 1W @ 525nm

I say $200. Obviously I would love them to be cheaper but the cheaper the hobby gets the more idiots will get there hands on high power lasers. Keeping the price around 150+ keeps a lot of idiots away.

    Laser Bans/Laws Opinions

Of course those of us that built them would then be in violation of the law. Thats kind of like saying lets just make alcohol illegal and anyone who wants some bad enough can make it themselves. Lets not, and say we did. Just leave laser laws alone.
