At what mW  do i need to wear goggles

Re: At what mW  do i need to wear goggles Sorry to say this, but this is probably the worst safety advice I've read here so far. Real safety cannot be achieved by tricks. And blu-ray is NOT more safer to the eyes because it is less bright.

    Suggested OD for 532nm?

OD2 is sufficient for lasers up to 500mW. 10^2=100. 500mW attenuated by a factor 100 equals 5mW. If your most powerful laser truly is and will be 150mw, OD1.5+ would suffice already.

    FAIL THREAD!!!!

LOL @ stripper fails. The girl in the first vid is quite skilled btw, just bad luck the pole fails on her. The one in the club is just drunk, and the one hanging from the green scarf is just plain dumb. ;D

    HELP!!!

I always though IR diverges rather quickly from an unfiltered dpss laser? Anyway I wouldn't be comfortable with a high powered green, let's say 200mW, without an IR filter. And since goggles for green usually do not protect against IR, a bad reflection or direct hit from an unfiltered green at...

Always a pleasure to look at your beamshots. I need to try the incense 'trick' myself someday, my girlfriend wife has an impressive collection of those.

goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND red?

Re: goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND re My AL2 goggles have a VLT of 21%. I didn't mean to say broadband goggles have such a poor VLT they are useless, but their VLT will be lower when compared to goggles for a more narrow range. ;)

Replacing the LD on my RPL...

Yep. The reason why many heatsinks have 'ribs' is to increase their surface area. Larger surface area = more transferral of heat. And of course, with forced air cooling the transferral capacity will increase even more.

1st day with dx 200mw red, Break my pc

I think you're underestimating yourself. It really isn't hard to do. But if you're one of those guys who don't even have a toolkit at home, you may want to call someone. ;)

    FAIL THREAD!!!!

Nope, I think pullbangdead is right. The guy looks Indian to me. One of my colleagues has visited India several times, and he says you can see the swastika everywhere there. For them, it's simply a religious symbol. The symbol is thousands of years old, before the NSDAP decided to use it for...

goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND red?

Re: goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND re Yeah, that's pretty much the same VLT as your eyelids. The main drawback of broadband goggles is their poor VLT.

goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND red?

Re: goggles that protect from blu-ray,green,AND re Yeah, even a direct hit from your 318mW will be attenuated to 10.05mW. Granted, not classIIIa range any more, but still a decent attenuation.
