Yes this store is great. Great prices. Those 10uf 16v caps should be all you need for BR diodes. Note especially the 50ohm 25 turn trimpots for $0.99

PSX boy has dropped his prices for these modules. They are now $30 for 1 $27 for 5+ units + shipping + Paypal fee Might not be as good at drlava's GB price for single pieces but probably about the same if you are buying >5 pieces. And it ships straight to you USPS doesn't eat all the money...

Re: CR123A housing awaits blue ray. Well I was thinking with a resolution of 4ohm per turn and 10% tolerance. Maybe you can be accurate up to half a turn but that is still 2ohms and the voltage range is estimated 10-15ohms. So perhaps 50 ohm 25 turn might be more precise up to 1ohm per half...

Re: CR123A housing awaits blue ray. Hey rog I am thinking you will need 10-15ohms if you run the pot in series to the diode. so a 25 turn 100ohm might not cut it unless I am calculating it wrongly. Check with gazoo before running to see what he uses. I am waiting to see if this works well too. :P

Re: CR123A housing awaits blue ray. Actually I was asking what the battery spike was to the Vin of the regulator and not at the output. But even if you spike 15v through the 7805, it should be able to handle it(35v max) and the reference will still be 5v across the resistor. I don"t see why...

Hey Mark, You are doing a great job since you got on of them lasing nicely. To measure the current you don't have to plug in the ammeter. Just measure the voltage drop across your 44ohm resistor (in voltage mode on ammeter) and divide it by its resistance. Should be 1.4v/44ohm=0.32mA...

Re: CR123A housing awaits blue ray. Ok. I'm gettng confused again. catdog says it needs 12v if running as a current regulator But you say the vdrop is only 1.7v. Or are you saying that rog is going to use the 7805 with a series trimpot which will drop the 5v output further depending on the diode.

1.4v over a 44ohm resistor gives 32mA and not 136mA. I don't understand the readings you are getting.
