Just sold my low end dSLR....suggestions for replacement?

I agree with KapHn8d the SL1 (or 100D at european market) is a very good camera.:) It's light and small and makes nice pictures. I've just bought it and it makes nice laser pics. Take a look at this thread Good Canon DLSR for beginners?

    A Malaysian airliner shot down

Because it's the first time ever that a commercial airliner is being shot at 10km flight height. They always thought that's a safe height because you need high tech weapons to hit a plane at that height. All other incidents before were at much lower heights. They also fly above Iraq ...

    Good Canon Beginner DLSR?

I'm going to take my new cam on a trip to london this weekend :yh: Interesting is that you've got a fisheye lens. I've got a bunch of old canon lenses from tele to macro but i've never seen dslr photos taken with a fisheye lens. Would be nice to see a few pictures taken with it.;)

    Good Canon Beginner DLSR?

Hey Guys, I'm searching for a cheap (200-550 euro) Canon DLSR. I've got a lot of equipment for a analog old Canon: canon AF mount objectives, bags and stuff. So I want to stay with canon to keep the AF mount. Size and weight is not so important for me so care more that its a full format sensor...

Theoretical Optic Problems. Please help :)

For a scientific project I want to scan a large cone shaped beam. To reach a single point with high power density that can be moved fast. My problem is that the galvo mirrors in my price range have to be very small because of the scanning speed they work at and I can't expand the beam behind...

    100w CW handheld laser?

Ok you have a battery and a diode. Now how about Cooling system, optics and driver ? 1. imagine over 120W heat in a handheld! watercooling systems for such diodes can be bigger than a regular desktop pc 2. you need a lot of optics to get a decent beam out of such a large bar diode most...

Good to see another member from Germany here on the forum :) BTW always read the documentation if there is any and get to know how exactly it works. This way it always...

    Lenses out of Diamonds?

You could but there are no applications for diamond lenses or windows in hobbyist applications. Edit: Depending on the size of your diamond I would either make to a jewelry for a present or future girlfriend or make a nice always sharp knife like tool out of it. Second Edit: I just had the...

    Killed my C6, ugh :(

If you decide to build a new laser. you should keep the diode and try the solder blob method and build yourself a small little lablaser maybe with a cheap lm317 driver ;) Btw why can't you tell your drivers output polarity normally there are small etched marks on the driver board, the...

    Killed my C6, ugh :(

From what I see you've been unlucky twice :/ In the datasheet it says that the pin broke the positive pin so you could restore the connection by a solder blob over the end of the broken pin but that would make the diode case positive which would not match to your case negative host. And if you...
