Been practicing with a DX geeenie (overspec, about 15mW or so) So 200mw Cheap chinese stuff before I buy a high quality laser seems like a good idea. From trawling the forums, it appears cheap red diode lasers with 200mw claim are usually 150mW or so, or even 200mW+ if you are lucky.

Of course large sensor dslrs give better results. But the problem is shallow depth of field. With a small sensor camera, indoor DOF is not much of an issue. As you get closer to your subject narrow DOF may make it difficult to capture everything you need.
