Green Laser beam spoted in Berlin

Is it legal in Germany to shine such powerful beams into the sky? What about airplanes? There was a lot of buzz around here in Belgium when an idiot shone onto an F16 jet with a handheld green, couple of weeks ago. EDIT It looks like it is coming from the building carrying the Hertz car rental...

    Laserbtb 515nm 5mw

THat's not what he meant. He talks about Brewster's Angle. It's not about the window blocking light, it's about the part that gets reflected by it.

    Laserbtb 515nm 5mw

OK, so that brings us to the original question : do you think I can safely buy this laser and have a good product? As far as I read over here, laserbtb is a thrustworthy company and they are reputed to not selling lemons. At first, I thought of ordering a 520 module at DTR's, but these guys...

    Laserbtb 515nm 5mw

I don't particularly care about the wavelenght, as all of these diodes will sooner or later become common, it's just that the 532 dpss dies in the cold, while the direct diode lasers don't.

    Laserbtb 515nm 5mw

Since nobody seems tot care or to know, I'll throw up soms other thoughts. A far as I know, there is no such thing as a 515nm diode. So it must be either a 520 or 510. The 520 has a lasing threshold around 15 mW, according DTR's tests. Dunno 'bout the 510's. Do you think these penstyles are...

This may be a stupid question...

Thanks for thuis information, Blaster. I will think about a different solution.

This may be a stupid question...

...but I'm not that strong into electronics. OK, I have this PL450Bdiode with a Moghasm 100mA linear driver. I feed it with 2 1634 cells. That works just fine, but I want to use this laser for a different purpose, actually for targeting. For that, it would be of more convenience to feed the...

    Laserbtb 515nm 5mw

I just noticed Laserbtb offers a penstyle 515nm 5mW laser. Any experience or knowledge on these? LP 515nm 532nm 1-150

    Is o-like trustworthy?

Am I seeing correctly that they are offering a 5mW 515nm penstyle laser?

    Red wavelength comparison (ADD YOURS)

That would be FOTOPIC vision, or daylight vision. Scotopic (=night) vision is largely colourblind but has a peak sensitivity around 510 nm

    405nm vs 532nm

People recommending 30 - 50 mW greens for astronomy usually just have no idea what astronomy is about. Do you guys have ANY idea why dedicated astronomy lasers are ALL in the 3-5 mW range? Did you read the Z-bolt blurb that their 5 mW greenies are even LPM'ed and certified to be of NO MORE than...

Alittle help. Where to buy and how much power?

    >> I'm looking for 2 cheap, but relatively stable lasers. I'm going to make an installation ontop of a house roof. I need them to been seen from long distance. 405nm vs 532nm

Jerry, I'm an astronomer, too. For pointing purposes, you want a green laser not much brighter than 5 mW. Anything stronger and the brightness of the beam will destroy your nightvision. I can not say a thing about the laser you ask about, however I can recommend Z-bolt's astronomy laser ...
