Project Turbo-Fruit: exploding orange - Gforce testing

Changed YouTube page after I found the password to my old account. Lots more videos now. If anyone previously subscribed, that channel has no videos now. My apologies, but you can find the new one here: https://www.youtube.com/c/presentteck Updated first post with link to playlist of all...

They'd probably get smashed when they don't hit the tube straight on. At least if your trying to launch them. That's what t shirt cannons for, mine has modular barrels. But the vortex itself looks like a good idea

New test, but the tach stopped working before I could finish. Waiting on replacement in the mail.

When he said removed counterbalanced with another on either side I was imagining a few feet of bar stock on top of an electric motor, removed on either end. But a large tube with air jets at an angle could get larger objects up to speed... if the pressure needed wasn't enough to hold it together.

Project Turbo-Fruit: exploding orange - Gforce testing

Well for larger objects I'd try a large drain tube, like 12" I don't want to construct an arm style tester because it would change the forces on it from centrifugal to linear g force

Previously washed with lacquer thinner and it'll hold until it wicks up more oil. Citrus oil is great at cleaning so... I did that for the stickers, not when I spray painted it. Lemons need it though. I have to redo them. Abs or metal curve is in the works, maybe a big ported tube. The safe...

Project Turbo-Fruit: exploding orange - Gforce testing

Re: Project Turbo-Fruit I'm already working on making those into videos too. I'd like to make a list of rpm tolerances... for reasons. I want to do a coconut and other large fruit, but I can't start there for lots of reasons. I've started with oranges, tomatoes, kiwi, lemon, lime, apple. All...

    HeNe testing advice

Yeah, same here. Very limited info on this tube. If I can find affordable film I'd like to try holographic sometime. It's just a tube I found for nothing at a swap meet, seemed time to get it going or get it gone. Glad it was still good.

    HeNe testing advice

Laser is happy. 76.5k was as close as I could come. Got the ceramic wound resistors. Big enough not to get hot. How would one know if they're overdriving a tube (mA)? I don't have a high voltage probe for my meter yet. Or if you know a good search term for that issue. Thanks...

    HeNe testing advice

Ah, I didn't have a resistor. I was thinking it should be internal on a supply made for lasers. I remember Ultimate mentioning it now. :/ I did make sure I hooked up the polarity correct though. I'll start looking for a HV resistor then. If so if I wanted the laser to use fewer mw I would just...

    HeNe testing advice

Got it all hooked up with the right parts. The power supply gets warm and makes an electric grinding noise so I'm assuming it's a cascading multiplier of sorts. It flickers quite a bit. The output looks dimmer than any red key chain I've ever seen, so I'm gonna guess it's actually 1 - 1.5mw...

1.5mw Single mode 632.8nm Appx. 245mm in length From what I've read it's probably 6-10mw to power it, but I haven't found a lot of exact specs on the tube. Sam's briefly goes past these tubes, it's most of the info above. I must of misread something earlier on the AC/DC. Thanks for the...

    ARO MkI

It used to be a pneumatic screwdriver of sorts. An odd tool at that. Milled out grip to fit battery pack. El wire and blinky lights are a later project. Lots more machining to do for aesthetics.
