All the stuff your local police confiscated from you.

The cops in my old town were pretty cool with lasers, which was nice. From what I hear, there were a few that actually owned some decent greenies. No problem with that. :p We had this musical festival once and a few hippies had some greenies, the cops never gave them any trouble.

All the stuff your local police confiscated from you.

The only interactions I've had with cops were fireworks-related, no confiscations.

Human color perception versus ambient brightness?

I'm not really sure what you're saying... We know for a fact that rods are more sensitive towards blue than cones, but the question is does this correspond to things looking bluer or not? (because rods don't see R,G,or B, only alpha, ie the sum of R, G, and B). My test basically consists of...

Thanks Bluefan, but I was hoping for some non-wiki material. :p Edit:The photometry one had some good sources. Thanks!

Human color perception versus ambient brightness?

I figured people in this section might know some on the subject... I'm doing a research project on the human response to ambient brightness on the viewing of RGB color and RGB white balance. If anyone has any sources on related information, that would be great. To make it a bit clearer, the...

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

With S30V, I'm thinking the $3 shipping charge would occur very rarely.

    Halloween Costume Thread

LOL, that's a clever one... I'm gonna be going as Odlaw, since I used that costume anyway yesterday for the school halloween celebration. ("Where's Waldo" theme) I got sunglasses, yellow and black striped jacket, black pants, a fake moustache, etc.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

Nope, never tried that, but I don't like sharpening things with what I have. I never feel like I'm back to that "factory" edge.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

Yeah, I thought the warranty was great for the price. They'll even sharpen the knife for free, you just ship it to them! That's one of my favorite parts... professional sharpening can be expensive.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

My old knife was 440a, and it had awful edge retention. It got little knicks in it pretty easily and didn't stay sharp (although to be fair, I'm not a good sharpener or anything-but it dulled fast!) Not to mention it wasn't that great of a knife all around, either. I'm just stepping it up a...

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

That breakout auto looks really nice, but I am looking for something for "heavy use", ie a thicker blade and better steel. My last knife didn't hold up well, hence the need for better steel.

Simple Laser Power Meter Using IR Thermometer

I'm pretty sure that lux meters will also give different readings for 5mW green or read light. They're compensated along some kind of curve IIRC.
