    Halloween 2013 laser shows?

Don't have any Halloween specific files yet but you can clone my repository and add some https://bitbucket.org/jbriggs/ildafiles

    experimental lumia effects

Thanks. I've done that same thing with a clear CD that you get when you buy a spindle of blank CDs. Didn't work that great. A glass tube would work much better (won't burn/turn black). Another idea I tried was taking one of those clear CDs and mixing up some epoxy on it. Let it get tacky and...

    experimental lumia effects

I would like to know more about the torture tubes. What are they? Do you sell them or are you willing to share how they are made?

    Hello from Santa Paula, CA

Hi Ronnie, welcome to the forum. Your pretty close to me. I live in Ventura. Since your taking the time to learn all the components first you might want to build a test load so you'll be ready when you get/make your first driver

    DMX Shield

I know there's at least 2 people working on arduino based DACs who might find this useful. I've looked for something like this before but at the time no one was making them. Add DMX control to your Arduino based DAC or lumia. DMX Shield -...

    OPENING DISCO -laser show help

I would stick to beams above the crowd or animations on a screen/wall. If you decide to do crowd scanning make sure you at least have a emergancy off button and someone paying attention and ready to press it if something goes wrong.

Online ILD to PNG (and SVG to ILD) Converter

Re: Online ILD to PNG Converter Nice! Awesome tool. It's be nice if I didn't have to enter the captcha every time. Maybe the first time sets a cookie that expires after a while. Thank you +1 Edit: I'm not sure what kind of server you are running but it probably wouldn't be very hard to add...

    OPENING DISCO -laser show help

You should only do crowd scanning if you have an dedicated, experienced operator that knows what to do when something goes wrong, and the equipment is fitted with the correct safety features (i.e an emergency off button, interlock, etc) You should never do crowd scanning with a scanner turned...

    SVG to ILD

I heard that ildsos does this I just haven't had a chance to try it yet. Laserboy does dxf but not svg (unless maybe I need to update my copy). I opened the svg file I had in Adobe Illustrator and exported it to dxf. When I opened it in Laserboy there was only the 2 default verticies. I'm not...

    SVG to ILD

I've been building a projector for sometime now. I using a lasershark DAC and the openlase library. In the tools folder of the openlase source code there's a python script that converts svg (scalable vector graphics) files to ild files. It doesn't use the openlase library for the conversion so...

ARDUINO & DAC for XY projector

I ment to for using an external DAC and the less powerful Arduino. Like the setup in the begining of this thread. I don't think it'd be a replacement for what camvo has now, I just thought it might be a fun exercise and should be much faster than the I2C or SPI. @camvo This looks like it's...

ARDUINO & DAC for XY projector

I haven't looked into any specific DACs yet. This thread has just started me thinking about it. If the micro has 2 ports that are sequentially mapped in memory you could write to them simultaneously by using a pointer that's 2x the size of 1 port. For example if p1 is at 0x0000 and p2 is at...

ARDUINO & DAC for XY projector

That looks pretty good. +1 I want to try using two parralel DACs and write directly to the ports on the micro.

I came to your profile via your post on cmak's profile that I arrived at grime the SoCal laser group. Are you still in Santa Barbara? I live in Ventura but work in SB during the week. I didn't see you on the LPF user map. It's nice to see there are some members around here. Maybe we could...

ARDUINO & DAC for XY projector

I understand he's making a DAC for the galvos. My mind just jumped ahead to the TTL modulation. I should have explained that. Sorry, it was early Monday morning and I was at the lake all weekend. :tired: Now, after thinking about it you really only need a pull-down resistor for TTL. @camvo...
