how much would it cost for 405nm 120mW diode

Check the buy/sell/trade section for PHR-803T sleds. There are quite a few members sourcing and offering these for sale lately. Depending on the seller, you can grab them up for around $20US average.. Some sellers even offer to harvest them from the sleds for a small fee. Figure in a bit extra...

    Question about 405nm 150mW module.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this. The PHR-803T diode has a square code mark on the back with the pins. It is easily visible on a clean diode.. If it does not have the square code stamp, it's not an 803T..

my home built blu-ray laser is not working HELP!

Re: my home built blu-ray laser is not working HEL Two possibilities.. ;) 1) Your focus ring(the "grip ring" that screws onto your lens) is on too far.. you could try taking it off and see what happens. If you can achieve focus, just put some eopxy on the threads of the ring(NOT supergle as...

    Battery Connection

Unfortunately, that battery is comprised of six 1.5v button cells, and only has a capacity of 200mAh.. this doea not mean it will run a laser at 100mA for 2 hours though unfortunately.. actually only maybe 20min-1/2 hr before you lose output:( You will either have to get one of those 6AAA...

    Battery Connection

Remember.. 3AAA+rkcstr driver+PHR 803T= the need for 10440's.. the 4.5v provided by 3 primaries is not enough. You probably did know that, but just in case.. ;)

strange lens in phr 803t sled

Yep .. A dichroic mirror for sure..

    good ole axe

Sorry, but Axe sux... Of course I am one of the older farts in here and prefer some of the classic brands... As for the Axe.. actually this is putting it to good use, since to me it's useless otherwise :P.....If u can get by the gag/cough reflex from spraying it around :-/ LOL It does make for...

    Voltage question...

Since you have acces to a mchine shop, I would suggest that you machine both cut ends of the original host, and both ends of a custom aluminum extension pipe(turned to match the host's diameters), so everything threads together. You will need the housing of the boost driver to use as a positive...

YAY my first BR! im joining the club!

I missed the story behind the UV diode....how did you end up with one of those?

    Magenta Laser

Voltage will be a problem.. you'll need two drivers. I am not sure what the end result will be, though, or if it will meet your expectations. That part I will leave to the experts:)

where can i get 473nm blue diodes?

Laser projectors(to replace today's bulb-driven digital movie/data projectors) more specifically.. A true median blue will be needed to make these work properly.. The same goes for the super-rare green diodes that are out there. There is a long way to go with these since they need to be able to...

    Voltage question...

Sounds like this will be an awesome laser! Three CR123's or RCR123's(I know a US seller for these) will mean EXCELLENT battery life also. My Dorcy Jr. build(Long open-can red@480mA,flexdrive-much more current draw on a single battery) runs for over an hour before needing a recharge on the...

    Voltage question...

In the tutorials section is one on the Dorcy Jr... just apply the differences for blu-ray. The only thing not mentioned/shown is the removal of the original boost driver.. it will give you ideas on how to properly go about averything.. don't forget a good machined aluminum heatsink 8-)
  14. G

    Voltage question...

True.. the only way to do this is to lengthen the Dorcy Jr. to hold 3 CR123's..
  15. G

    Voltage question...

Neat idea... just getting it to hold together may be a task without a machine shop's help. ;) Whatever you do, don't forget to kill the Dorcy's boost driver inside the black plastic part of the battery half...I can only imagine what it would do if you fed it 9v :o

Where to buy high power 407nm L. pointer(+50mw)

Re: Where to buy high power 407nm L. pointer(+50mw Buy/Sell/Trade section..plenty there. They are of course 405nm..BUT as diodes go, the wavelength my vary between 403 to 408nm. $200 should get you one up into the >100mW range ;D
  17. G

    Voltage question...

The dorcy junior tahes a single CR123 or RCR123... Really the only way to go is to use a flexdrive.......

    Driving Phr-803T diode at 400ma

9V battery output current testing My thoughts exactly.. which is why you didn't see a major output increase. A 9V battery is about the worst choice for a laser.. they are made for a current draw of ~50-70mA. I do have an 803T build @150mA powered by a 9V, which functions quite well, but the...

    battery life?

That would be me.. Basically what I mean by that is that alkalines are NOT a good choice for these.. even though the laser is only putting out "20mw", the driver is probably pulling a good deal of current. Cheap bateries, even name beands like Duracell or Energizer alkalines, will die FAST...

    Laser Housing

I have this exact build in the smallest plastic project box radioshack sells, with a momentary switch. Boxy, yes, but functional. Fair warning.. yes the 9V battery will work, but it will not last long.. after about 1/2 hour runtime, the laser loses output due to the battery wearing out:(..
