    Add overload!

Lol, your post has ads too :D I don't know what to say...LPF is free for us but it costs Avery money and work to keep it going so if this is the only way LPF can sustain itself I can't really complain.Besides, it maintains it's functionality and I don't feel like I have the right to b!itch...

    BIG o-like modules.

Yea, if you have access to some tools it's just a pleasure to use them to make something for yourself :D

    BIG o-like modules.

But making your own host is always cool and will probably cost you a lot less than $100(not that it would matter that much after spending 500 on the module). But if I had the money to buy one of those I'd make my own host too, it's something to get creative on :D and gives you a feeling of self...

Using a laser to light a room

lol , I think that's pretty harsh :D Btw, this is probably more for the cool factor than maximum practicality.

[vid] Some cool phenomena with laser beam

Wow, the "heat wave" effect is pretty cool! How cold was it outside? And do you really need huge distance or (I'm thinking) it would work just as well if you unfocused the laser from short range?

Using a laser to light a room

Well it would have to be cooled decently. You could probably have a module pointing upward and a silent fan cooling it.It would also be recomended to have it fixed well enough not to get knocked over and shine into someones eyes by accident.I would imagine somewhere on the wall , high enough so...

alternative kind of 3D mounts !

It looks like adjustments have to be done by hand and could lack precision which would make alligning more difficult.

    Look at this 60W burn...

That's CRAZY!! The knife blade must reach about 1200°C I love how the metal bursts into sparks :D Are those lenses convex on a single axis to fix the bar shape output? Yea but come on...If 0.5% gets absorbed you're gonna feel it.

You guys *have* to try this

Yea, and actually it looks best when you *are* holding it still, like when it's mounted on a tripod. It also works well with black trash bags or whatever reflective plastic that slowly warps and melts under the action of the laser(which is what causes the warping projections).

Anti-Bugs Laser Guns for "Kosher" Food Supervisors

Lol! But everything is cooler when done by a laser even if it isn't practical :)

Great VID of NIF Fusion lasers

You're probably right.I was just thinking that there is a tiny break between the frames.

    Laser Hair Removal

My bad. :) But what about above 350nm?
  13. Switch

Great VID of NIF Fusion lasers

Yea, cause every time you turn on your greenie you see a beam strech as far as you can see. Those 2cm beams would probably escape between the frames of your eye if they were made visible :D

    Laser Hair Removal

Yes you are wrong.Sunburns aren't thermal damage. If you never noticed, you can't get sunburns on the palms of your hands because you have no pigment there. Also, darker colored people are more resistant to sunburns, and if they were caused by plain heat, they would actually sustain more damage...

    Laser Hair Removal

Well you said that above 380nm nothing but thermal damage occurs, but sunburns aren't thermal damage. What wavelength is the UV that gives you suntans? :/

Great VID of NIF Fusion lasers

That's cool how they amplify the beams with flashlamps :D I wonder what the power loss through all those optics and the frequency tripling(?) at the end is?

    Laser Radiation Warning Symbol

Oh yea, that's probably what I was remembering. There was also some talk about getting some GITD on it so you could charge it up with the blu-ray, right? Anyway, I +repped you :D

Bomb Price: 405nm AR glass dual layer/lens fit AX/DX

So your thread title starts with "bomb price" and inside we only find a link to another novel of a thread where my page search could find a lot more "bomb price" but no figures. Really no point in doing this....

difference between PULSED and CONTINUOUS wawe ?

Isn't TTL just 5V on and 0V off? :/ But anyway, a sin function takes values between 1 and -1.In the case of AC , these values are multiplied by whatever values, but a laser can't have a negative output so you could only have a pseudo sinusoid that oscilates between max and 0.

    Laser Hair Removal

That is false. The limit between violet and UV isn't crystal clear so they just drew the line at 400nm which is visible by most humans.Actually most people can still see 360nm pretty well. As the wavelength gets shorter the light gets dimmer, but there isn't any solid boundry where your eye...
