    Fun with FOGGY SKIES!

Another one is hooked, good... good. The plan is coming together nicely... ;D Glad you're having fun, just next time when you get a nice foggy day/night get some pictures for us!

    Flimsy DragonLasers Boxes!

Exactly what I did timelord! ;D I have two Dragon Cases and a bit of rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs does the trick if you use a bit of pressure. Now if only there was a good way to get their name off of my laser shades.... ::)

    Button problem with Alpha 125

What are you talking about with lasers not being adjustable? How about all the potentiometers on our DIY lasers? The RPL adjustable tail cap? C'mon now! But I'm just trying to give you a hard time and hope you get an even better laser in return!

    Got my first HeNe!!

I want to get my hands on one of these self contained units. Not sure where I could get one though, and would want a higher powered one.

help me choose a burning laser!!!

You certainly don't need that much power! With my 115mW CNI Pen I can easily light matches without a lens fairly quick and my 30-40mW can light matches quickly with a lens. ;D

    about dealextreme...

The quality is lacking so for higher powers they aren't totally reliable. When you get to higher powers you want something stable and with a guaranteed output.

    Ultra Lasers 120mW Mode Issues

Well, Nova has their X-105 for $209 with 105-125mW average output and they work almost flawlessly as DPSS laser systems go. I know that if I even put down over $50 for laser without knowing it wasn't worth it I would get a bit angry if it had issues. But to each their own. ;)

    about dealextreme...

For the price they are AMAZING lasers! Look at my sig for my tested peaks on my two DX lasers. For the cost I saw they were a great deal! Also check out my reviews. http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1193361888

    about dealextreme...

It will have an IR filter of lower quality. And they can get them distributed so cheaply because they can acquire them in bulk and do not spend much time testing them besides a quick visual before packing and shipping. The reliability is generally good but there have been cases of crap lasers...

    diy laserdiode measurements with solarcell

I like this simple "meter". Very festive for the holidays to boot! I'm interested in what you can pull off once you get a proper meter so you can compare.

help me choose a burning laser!!!

Re: help!!!! Well for the most part laws are fairly lax and are logical. Don't shine them at people, anything living, vehicles, planes, and government buildings. You always have to be weary of reflections as well and how the beam travels. At your budget though you would be looking more at...

    Ultra Lasers 120mW Mode Issues

I have a CNI pen and two different DX lasers and have yet to see any of them mode hop even the slightest bit. There are many slight variations in manufacturing that could cause this but for how much you generally pay for a handheld laser of that level it should be fully compliant to staying...

    green laser

I know that we can mention other forums. But like with the incident before, people were banned for notifying previous members of the forum that it was back up after being hacked multiple times in a row. Some things were taken to far but that was the general principal of it all. I just don't want...

    green laser

Wow guys... I don't see why this bashing has been instituted. I will admit I go to BOTH here and "another laser forum" and isn't it just all about the expansion of knowledge? The growth in the field to collaborate and learn more? Not about getting more visitors then someone else. Shame on you all.

    WTB: Green laser (Read More)

I answered a similar question in your other post. But don't worry about being a "noob" we all have to start at one point. SenKat, Pseudonoment137 and Timelord all started out knowing nothing about lasers and look where they are now! But try out this for a starter laser...

    5mw core laser

This is a valid question. If you want a decent lower powered laser I certainly wouldn't go with the Core. I would highly suggest the True 5mW or True 30mW lasers from DealExtreme. Look in my signature for what I had them tested at! http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.911...

    Small Spot Help

I think your best bet would get get one of the low power 5-10mW red (650nm or so) modules from Aixiz. That will allow you to adjust the spot down to a pinpoint if you don't need instantly adjustable ranges. Should be relatively cheap to buy. You can even ask if they have any of them in the...

    are lasers toys?

One less spastic person to ramble about things that are pointless! ;D Will be sad to see you leave but if you can't really embrace what the forum is about it would be better if you weren't regularly viewing. We're not forcing you to be here after all.

    Radio Shack Green Pointer Review

Bah, radioshack loses yet again. I say DX greens for low power! I have my true 5mW that I can easily see the beam of in my room with the lights on! Then again I tested it at over 15mW peak with a coherent field master. ::)
