Yag isn't really that long of a wavelength compared to some other lasers, you should be able to see it just fine with any video camera that doesn't have an ir filter in it. I use one of those little cvs disposable cameras with the ir filter removed to see my ir lasers, that is what I used to...

OMG! how can anyone come close to that! :o :o I thought I had a lot of lasers, but mine are all box types, I would rather have a laser that doesn't roll.

Re: GB LIVE & OPEN for Small RF 5-10W CO2 LASERS! You would need to either build a 28v 10amp power supply, or buy one already made that runs off of the mains voltage in your area. As the title of this thread says, they are 5 to 10 watts... hopefully they are closer to 10 then 5 watts. 8-)

Re: GB FEELER Small RF 5-10W CO2 LASERS! CHEAP! Nope, its more like 10600nm... its very far into the ir from the diodes we play with. It will burn a lot of things that reflect the near ir frequency's. :D Also, its a lot easier to get goggles for it, since just about any goggles will protect you...

Just get a 1w from snoctony on ebay, use a meredith module, and an lm317t at 1 amp. The 2w in my avatar is a to-3 running at 2.1 amps. :D

ok, you also need to check the current at 3.5v, I have seen new battery's add up to 3.5v. If the diode doesn't use more than your safe level of current, then it should be fine with out the driver... but im willing to bet that it wont be at 3.5v. There is a point where the current climbs...
