    Lasers that need no batterys!

If I wanted a laser with no battery, i'd use a supercapacitor. :)

Where to buy 808nm IR diodes (PLEASE HELP)

I think someone should start a group buy for 1w to 3w c-mounts, and to-3 case style diodes. I sure hope snoctony comes back, his diodes were awesome. :(

    free energy

I have heard that there is more zero point energy in a 1cm^2 vacuum than is needed to boil the water of the entire oceans of the earth. :o If we are ever able to tap this energy, we will be in serious danger of self annihilation. :o

I have one of those velleman scopes, and I just got this one for Christmas. http://www.tequipment.net/OWONEDU5022WBAT.html I have seen them on ebay for 300.00... Its a pretty nice scope for 300. 8-)...

    Laser media

movies: "The Manhattan project"-kid builds a nuke using plutonium that had been enriched with a laser. tv shows: "original battle star galactica" where the cylons had a giant laser in a mountain.

Successfully changed the c-mount on my Aixiz 50mw

Re: Successfully changed the c-mount on my Aixiz 5 Ok, thanks! As close as I looked at mine, I failed to notice that set screw! very cool! :D

Successfully changed the c-mount on my Aixiz 50mw

Re: Successfully changed the c-mount on my Aixiz 5 wow, I was under the impression that the heat sink with the crystals in it was part of the whole thing, I didn't see a way to take the crystals out of it, what did you have to do to get the crystals out? :-? Where is the set screw? In a hole in...

Man, those things sure are beautiful! :o Maybe one day I'll get my 2 out and work on them. ::)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

So, Mike, was your switch the culprit? :-?

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Absolutely! :) :o I have used the software already, and it is great! The same controller is used on battle bots. (which have dangerous and large weapons) This thing could be potentially very dangerous, thats why I built the keypad circuit the way I built it. When power drops out, it cant...

    RF excited CO2 lasers

how are you keeping the packs balanced? :-? Unbalanced could be very bad. :o

    RF excited CO2 lasers

ya, I think they are also less voltage per cell. :)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

These were brand new cells? and there are bad ones? :( hmmm... thats not good. The li-ion cells are a lot of power for their size... But maybe the drill packs would be much better for this laser... Plus you can use the handle like we were talking about. :D

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Cyparagon, Don't you think I can do this? :-? or, are you jealous? ;D What do you mean by "Uh Huh..." This is the last post about this, until its done, I didn't mean to hijack this thread. I had planned on using the CO2 laser in it, but the diode will be a better choice. Here are the links to...

    RF excited CO2 lasers

I'm using 6 x 5amp regulators in parallel. Those are powered by a dc to dc power converter rated 36 - 58v in at 6 amps, and 5v 30amps out. I'm using 4 12ah gel cells to power the converter. The keypad circuit is controlling a 50A relay (only relay I had in the junk box) that control's the power...

    RF excited CO2 lasers

very cool! Yes, I will take some video of it. :)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

yes, I know. I treat it like I treat my shotgun. This is not a small toy, its more like a medium weight battle bot. :)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Well, I'll be using many safeguards, the power to the laser will only be turned on by a 6 digit pin on a keypad not interfaced with the rpv's computer. (this circuit is built and works great!) Also, the lasers power is in parallel with a loud warning alarm. There will be no one in the room when...
