    Quiz Me

No - I'm trying to assess what power Laser I can safely play with without goggles, and will probably order a 30 mw rechargeable ( not a pen ) or 2 and have someone mod it down to 5 or 10 mw, verified on meter and IR filter, and they get to keep the 2nd one. So I'm asking how low do I go ? My...

    done

Re: Firecrackers in Canada Wow - I grew up in New York State about 9 or 10 miles from Canada and as kids ( 10 to 12 yrs. old ) we used to take busses and bring firecrackers back FROM Canada to USA. So they are finally banned in Canada- well too many kids getting hurt I guess....

    Quiz Me

If I play around with a 5 to 10 mw green laser with no goggles and a reflection off a metal doorknob or a window pane reflects back at me at about 10 feet away ( 20 foot round trip ) about what % percentage of original beam power hits my eye ? Question 2 - is a verified 5 mw with an IR...

    Green Power Safety Questions

That's exactly what I'm thinking- get two 30 mw units and send them to a Pro on here with a meter, and have him install an IR Filter on one and dial it down to 5 mw, and he gets to keep the second one. It would be a rechargeable unit and much more stable than a little pen type, and could be on...

    Green Power Safety Questions

Infinitus- could you imagine playing around with a 10mw in a fairly dark room, bouncing off white walls etc.- wouldn't the reflections be less than 5 milliwatts if you start with 10 ? Actually the dot from the flashlight red laser ( not exactly a dot, a little more unfocused, like a thin bar )...

    5mw green? (safety)

To the OP- I'm a beginner ( no Laser yet ) and I'm thinking of the exact same things as you for a first no goggles with CAUTION use and have been asking guys on here etc. Be careful because many of the units on Ebay, for example which have rechargeable LION batteries which say Military or...

    Green Power Safety Questions

Thanks for the responses- I would not be using for pets or when others are around- But- I would be bouncing off walls and there would be reflections, no mirrors but I am experimenting with a red laser on a flashlight maybe 3- 5 mw and refracting and reflecting etc. The Laser on the...

    Charger SYSMAX INTELLICHARGE I4 (Li-Ion , Ni-Mh , Ni-Cd)

OK- I think this Charger will revolutionize life as we know it on Earth, becoming an energy source on it's own and leading to Cold Fusion!

    How do yellow lasers work?

So you're saying or were saying since this thread is months old that the Mainstream does NOT recognize my need to play around with an 8mw yellow and project it onto the walls etc. ?! Hard to believe.....

    Green Power Safety Questions

So if you want to play around without goggles reflecting off walls etc. with a green laser- do you want to use a 5 mw or maybe 10 ? Obviously, reflections could get dangerous at a certain point, provided there's no mirrors, what's the cutoff in milliwatts ? Some have remarked that looking at...

Why no competitor to the Hercules?

Don't the lower power lasers, below 20 milliwatts or so - have 100% duty cycles ?

    4 diodes in one housing?

I thought you meant four different colors in one housing- that would be cool ! Violet - Blue - Green - Red Or better IMO Yellow - Blue- Red- Green

I was told you are an expert on here and am new to the Laser thing but want a 5 to 15 mw green flashlight or torch rechargeable and thought maybe getting 2 cheap units that are probably 30 to 50 and having someone mod one DOWN to about 10mw, so I can see the beam at night but safe without...

Modding 30-40mw green DOWN to 10 or 15

Well - I may even go down to 5 mw as long as the beam is visible at night. Pointers for astronomy use are often 5-10 mw and don't require goggles. But I need a PRO to do the mods and measure the actual output. Thanks. The more I read the more I'm leaning toward a 5 mw ONLY measured power...

Modding 30-40mw green DOWN to 10 or 15

I want a low power Green 10- 15 milliwatt that uses torch or flashlight style and with rechargeable batteries and clicky switch and IR filter. It occurred to me that maybe I could get TWO cheap units and send BOTH to one of you MOD wizards and you could MOD one for me and install IR filter and...

Questions about Laser Led/ Flashlight Combo

Sold at NAPA Auto is a nice little LED/ Red Laser flashlight rated at less than 5 mw but a great little laser for playing with your cat. 7 dollars and in a very sturdy aluminum host. I wish it was a green Laser because at this power a green might be bright enough to see the beam itself- the...

Want to start buying lasers, what are some good cheap ones?

I'm new to all this but the greens are not that expensive, a little more than red generally but there are a few sites with 100 and 200mw greens for well under a 100 hundred and some 100 mw greens under 50 dollars. The only really expensive ones are the oranges and yellow golds etc.

Strength required to see green beam at night

Thanks Guys- my intention here is to have as first Laser a 5 to 10 Milliwatt Green- as I say I'll probably want to get a measured one like from Laserer which also has LOW IR ( measured ) so: I'll be able to see it at night including beam BUT be able to play around inside - no mirrors- and use...

    Laserglow Rigel 2

That picture is amazing- looks like something from a new electron microscope- a picture of an Atom or a Quark or a subatomic collision- not that I have any specific knowledge of these.
