i hope the results come in soon. I want to start my 6x build and I'm going to start ordering components in the near future. gonna need a glass lens to support 200+mW power outputs or to perhaps get me TO that output.

how much extra to have the circuit board removed? diode can stay in sled, I have no problems removing it from there.

i though you needed 10+ diodes to order?

so how do these stack up against your "magic" lenses jay?

what kind of mW's do you typically get running these at 180mA? and what if you add jayrob's "magic" lens?

so has anyone recorded any standard intensities with the 6x's? I'm hearing they'll have a good diode life running at 200mW which will get even stronger with jayrob's "magic" lens. Does setting the driver to around 180mA get that output? Trying to make sure I get my V4 FlexDrive and batteries...

do you just heat them up and pull with pliers? or do you use a solder sucker?

how clean do you typically get the circuit boards off the diodes?

Got everything finally assembled today. Think i might need to add some more protection from shorts. gotta find my roll of electrical tape or something. soldering the wires to the pins on the diode proved to be a pain in the ass. got a little sloppy. but after firing it up it seems my amateur...

ok, thanks for the tip. i really don't wanna mess this diode up. still gotta borrow a soldering pencil. my soldering gun i think is too powerful. its a 120v 1.1AMP soldering gun running at 60 cycles. I think i might just head to radioshack and pick up a pencil though. the tip of the gun i have...
