    (Limited) FS: 5300mAh Li-ion cells

Yes. Solder wets both terminals. I can give it to you for $15 shipped.

    Would this soldering gun work?

I figured you wont do a lot of soldering that's why I recommended a 30w iron. If you plan to solder a lot of things, a soldering station is the way to go. I got a Yihua 936 brand station from HobbyKing and I'm pretty happy with it. It does everything I expect for its price.

    (Limited) FS: 5300mAh Li-ion cells

I can ship it via LBC instead of postal mail for you. It should only be around $3

    Would this soldering gun work?

Get a 30W iron instead. 60W will get too hot and ruin small joints.

AAA Battery Life with > 50+mW lasers ???

Its a bit of an exaggeration. They WILL die very soon than you think. Alkalines last long if they are used with light loads. Load them up and they lose capacity quickly. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding that.

AAA Battery Life with > 50+mW lasers ???

At 150mw output, my estimate is that it will draw around 500mA from the batteries. Alkalines will be useless. They'll die in a few seconds. Use rechargeable batteries instead.

    Suitable?

Yeah right. Since when are those eBay crap googles guaranteed to protect against lasers? They may not be made for laser protection but they have been tested by a few members, including me, to protect against 445nm. @OP - These ones I have do not block 532nm as opposed to the ones tested earlier...

Little Problem with driver for MS-SSW II

Its one of those that we commonly get from DX. You can change the sense resistor to change the ouput current. You will need to attach a piece of heatsink on the IC if you run it above 1.25A.

PL520 build, 1 of 3 lasers (very pic heavy).

Nice build. What a huge sink for that tiny diode.

    18650 rechargeable batteries

You can charge your 18650 at any setting. 2A will yield the fastest charge time out of the 3 settings

    18650 rechargeable batteries

0.5A for an 18650 will take forever. Set it to 1A instead. For smaller cells use 0.5A. You can also charge IMR 18350 and IMR 16430 cells at 1A

    Panel meter - common ground

Time to give it a go then. Care to explain why this method works with meters that require an isolated power supply?
