Just finished my first, 1W 445 build about an hour ago. It's insane. But, I can't help but feel paranoid shining it at the sky in my back yard. I'm in a medium density area. Every time I hear a car start up, or anything else, I feel like it's a 5-0 pinpointing my house to come hassle/arrest me...

90% of that paste was scraped off when the module was set in the headsink. I was working on the assumption that excess would be scraped away, and that if the layer was so thin that it was not scraped, it would in fact be a gap, which would conduct less energy than an equally thick layer of paste.

And I guess I should mention for anyone who is interested, I configured the flex drive so that it settled around 1225mw (according to the reading over a 1Ohm resister / 4 1N5406 diodes -- thanks Jufran).

My power source is a 3900mw 10180 battery. The 1N4003 appear to be fine in terms of heat/current if I only leave them connected for <10 seconds at a time, I'm just not sure how many of them to use. If I hook up a AA batt to a multimeter, measure the voltage, and then short it with a single...

Looks like I have the wrong diodes. I have 1N4003 not 1N4001.

I should also mention that my test circuit consists of 6 1N4001 diodes and a 1W 1Ohm resister.

Hey Guys. :wave: I'm trying to configure my flexdrive for about 1.4 amps. I can't seem to get it above 1... The jumpers are set such that they are all connected. Like this: http://goosesensor.net/flex.png I have a new AW 10180 that I charged for about 1-2 hours reading at just above 4 volts...

i think ill run to the hardware store and see if they have any baby springs.
