i didn't say that there are direct yellow diodes and also didn't meant to make yellow from combining other colors,i was talking hypothetical if ever produced direct yellow diodes.

im not a pro or something im just saying my opinion that it could be use higher wavelengh diodes to improve visibility somehow

i think that someday the yellows gonna be produced for projectors because 555nm is the brighest wavelengh in our eyes,we are lucky that on projectors history started from the low 445nm,projectors was the reason that we have so many high power 445,450,455,460 and we are currently on 520nm...

or you can make your own out of wood. this is my 14250 dummy battery that made myself for my plt520 build

im guessing that is using an m140 diode at best considering the low price so it would range around 1.5w+.if the front lens can be unscrewd you can take a picture of the diode and we can be much closer to our guessings ;)

thats terrible and very sad,it makes feel so bad when seeing people around here that used to be very active when i 1st joined the forum(i remember your avatar back then) sudenly have all those life and health problems. most of the times i don't even know what to say or how to express my feelings...

do you have a psu and lpm?if so i strongly recommend to make a nice test for yourself first to find the sweet spot for the diode as this is kinda new diode to lpf so nobody have tested it yet.if you don't own an lpm then i suggest you to go with the datasheet as you can easily fry the diode with...

from only those 2 i would chose the pltb450b for the slightly better beam profile,but from all the diodes i agree with Redcowboy for the ndb7875 for the combo power-divergence

a good step about this method would be to find a source of the diode cans,just curious what is the cheapest 9.0mm diode tha we could get?maybe we could extract some from other very cheap diodes

yes those diodes has the same part number on the cans as the ones that DTR is selling

Re: Sharp 495nm GH04850B2G 55mW Laser Diode yea i get that,all im trying to say is that the name of your diodes GH04850B2G this 48 refers to the 480-489nm range, wish someone with a spectrometer will test a diode from your batch, personally i would prefer those to be real 488nm diodes :)
