    3D Printed Sharp GH04850B2G Build

very nice and you made it all by yourself,i liked the part that you can make it stronger with just a connection of 2 screws.

    Boost/Buck driver

looks good but i'd still vote for astralist's new pico drive, has better price and can work up to 1.5A current also. just personal preference

my sharp GH04850B2G (the chameleon light)

i don't have any rubber covers that fit exactly the lens ring but instead if i have to take a laser with me i use a small piece of duct tape on top of the ring and does the job good, well only only one time i forgot to remove it powered my laser and had burned duct tape on the lens,nothing...

my sharp GH04850B2G (the chameleon light)

thanks for your opinions everyone, i can't agree more with BowtieGuy that this thing can't fit my pocket

    Chaos Emerald Keychain

awesome tiny build,i do prefer the smaller builds lately.enjoy the nice green

The worst example of poor laser safety I’ve ever seen!

woah i just saw that, what the hell is wrong with some people,he even know himself how stupid he is but wants to do it anyway.

some more beamshots mostly at night

my sharp GH04850B2G (the chameleon light)

finally got some time to make a complete thread about the newest diode on our laser world sharp GH04850B2G the chameleon light as i named it because i can't tell what color really is as its always changing on my eyes depending the enviroment and other lights. i was planning to upload images...

    FS: 75$ Sharp laser 490-493nm ~160mW

i would do it but im chickening as i don't want to risk and push that much a diode that i bought 70 bucks,if it dies i couldn't afford to buy a new one

Uranus smells like farts, scientists confirm

what if there was a civilization at some time and they polluted the planet after thousands of years farting? maybe the end of our world will be this too :toilet:

    FS: 75$ Sharp laser 490-493nm ~160mW

awesome price tag and hell of a power on this wavelengh, best wishes on your sale,i just completed my build yesterday and set mine at 190ma,i just need some beamshots to make a thread about it :)

PLTB450B puts out only a flash

pltb450b can handle up to 1.8A current so overdriving isn't the case here. do you have a good heatsinking on your diode?it could happened if you powered a bare diode or only with the housing.

Might be a stupid question but,,,

well i do own a 110mw 780nm laser that i made it alone when i first started the hobby,it has a cherry red dot that i can see clearly(looks like a 1mw red laser) inside my room.sometimes i use it on a dark room just for the unique color and besides that it doesn't have more uses at least to me.

    Future of lasers

there is not a pink color at least not on the visible spectrum,on the other hand could it be posible to produce an emmiter that emits 2 different wavelenghs at the same time? we could have some very nice colors that way

    Future of lasers

just a quick thought about our beloved 520nm greens,on the next 5 years we will have multiwatt greens like blues althought the divergence will get worst.greens seems to follow the timeline of greens, imagine those 1w diodes that we curently have to be like an A140 blue diode back then and how...

    FS : My laser 490nm-493nm Sharp ~160mW

Re: My some pictures laser 490nm Sharp awesome beamshots if the color that your camera picks is real then you have one of the lower wavelengh diodes

    Astral Driver - Buck, Boost, & Buck-Boost

nice to see that its going up to 5A+,did you really run it at 5A output without heatsink?

    new build-495,405 and 460nm laser

http://www.beamq.com/350mw-405nm-nichia-laser-diode-gh04w10a2gc-p-1028.html is this the 405nm diode you have?if so it is pretty impressive that has 1.1w rated pulsed output.hope you had an lpm to mesure it. the title says nichia but the datasheet is from sharp

    Astral Driver - Buck, Boost, & Buck-Boost

those look awesome and have better price than the older superdrive(i don't mind the 4.5A max compared to the old 5.5A),i'll wait for your new high current buck driver to make one package for all of them

Red dimmed light coming out of green laser

it could be a short of your batteries inside the host and voltage starting dropping, first check your batteries voltage and if they are good then your laser is dead and as CurtisOliver said don't look at the red light because its infrared and can be very well be over 100mw in power.
