What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

    there are crosshair-generating optics yes

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

I am fairly certain LOC's are polarized

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

do you know for sure that that pointer is polarized? remember if the pointer isnt polarized the PBS will not work as expected never heard of a "precision" beam splitter... so who knows

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

first one will not work for combining, second one will

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

well I am telling you, I have called insight to try and buy an AN/PEQ-2 from them directly and they will not sell you one if you are not part of a military or law-enforcement agency... so I would presume the FDA is ok with that since insight sells a lot of stuff that would be "non-compliant"...

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

you going to argue with the guy with a gun? :D

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

I think I understand laser classes :p you must have very sensitive vision to clearly see a 5mW deep red beam from a distance... also there are plenty of laser sights that exceed 5mW because they are for military/law enforcement use only... DBAL has a 35mW 835nm laser AN/PEQ-15 has a 25mW...

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

at 5mW you would have a hard time... unless its foggy out... thats why most real laser sights dont exceed 5mw for visible (red) and 30mw for IR (for NVG's)

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

I would use a different color, one with less chance of a visible beam, like 660 or 635 red... visible beam means the person your aiming at knows exactly where to aim

200mW of green for $125 shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that looks like a benchtop supply does this thing run off of DC?

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

seems like they divided everything by 2... 2.5V color signals???

Amazing lazer show ... where can I get such equipment?

you should read up on the Moscow incident before spreading FUD International Laser Display Association pulsed lasers should NEVER under any circumstances be aimed at people but Class IV CW lasers are regularly aimed at people all over the world (yes even illegally in the US - not by me mind...

Yet another idiot with a pointer

you should see which eyeball can last the longest when staring into it... idiot :wtf:

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

oh ya its definitely doable to get a soundcard dac to give you the same scan angle as a proper interface... well you definately do not want to exceed 5VDC on your color lines... na its ok, thats how everyone learns :D

What's a reliable setup for a 532nm, 100mW that will handle recoil and return to zero

nice choice on the colt... I have an MT6400C and its been great... anyhow most of those chinese laser sights on ebay dont hold zero very well if at all... in addition the shock of the recoil would probably destroy most DPSS cavities unless they are specifically designed for said shock...

    O-like 1W 445nm

wow thats actually really, really nice looking... crap I might have to buy one... what am I going to do with TWO pointers? lol
  17. flecom

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

this is the quick and dirty way, and how I do it too when I use my sound card dac... but the soundcard dac will always be outputting 0VDC on the inverting input, so it does affect scan angle... galvos work and +/-10VDC input http://www.laserist.org/StandardsDocs/ISP05-finaldraft.pdf so a...

Yet another idiot with a pointer

BBC News - Arrest over Pope helicopter laser seems like there is an article per day about morons with pointers... cant end well :(

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

well your off to a good start it seems :) now all you need is a dual loc with a flexmod and a 445 module with a flexmod, some optics and you'll have yourself a nice little RGB rig
  20. flecom

    my 5W RRGBB projector

yes thats it! I still have mine but its not as new looking as that one... I bought it in 1995... so I must have been ~11 years old at the time
