    FS: Host + Heatsink $15

Yeah, I have gotten a few different flashlights in the past with forward clickys as well. What confuses me to no end is why all flashlights are not forward clicky by default. Not only do you have the option for a constant-on click, but you also get the added benefit of a momentary switch...

    My Latest Personal 445 Build

Chances are good that thing isn't IR filtered. So unless I am mistaken, the LPM reading will be off significantly, especially at that power level. I don't know what the ratio of IR to green output is, but I think it is something like 3:1 with the majority being IR. Me personally, I sure...

    Diode press for sale $15.00

I got my press a few day ago (very quick shipping!) but I want to know exactly how to use it. I am pretty sure I know how to do it, but a confirmation would be great! Basically, I just put the diode in the hole of the tool, then stick it through the hollowed out AixiZ back-end and jam it into...

    FS: Host + Heatsink $15

Question about the flashlights. Are the buttons reverse clicky or forward? Would be amazing if they were forward, but it seems all the cheap flashlights I come across (DX lights) are all reverse clicky. Aside from one extremely rare DX light I own, usually only Surefire flashlights are...

For Sale: Wicked Lasers Nexus & Fusion & Accessories

Dang, the Nexus looks you got your money's worth from that! I don't think i have even seen such a well used laser (not in a bad way). :D Looks like you might have taken it with you everywhere you went for years. :)

Acquiring 445nm diodes direct from manufacture.

The only way prices will go up is if Casio stops making the projectors and doesn't use the diodes in anything else. Otherwise they will keep pumping out projectors and pumping out diodes. And as time works with technology, the prices will steadily drop from this point forward. They don't...

Darn, they ran out of the X-15's! I knew I should have looked in on this deal when I originally saw it. :banghead:

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

Thanks for the tip. I checked from the battery opening part to see if anything was getting stuck or is the board wasn't supported right, and it seems fine (far as I know, lol). The clicky itself clicks really easily and seems Ok in that respect. It's just the contact point inside the clicky...

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

No worries Jay, it works good enough for general pointing purposes. :) It is just slightly annoying. I bet a bigger plastic button piece (that glues on after everything is slipped together) would solve the problem, since it would make putting more pressure on the switch easier. Although I...

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

The button is lined up perfectly, it's the switch that is malfunctioning. Because it can turn off without even being 'unclicked'. I don't think any of the 445's (at least with the XJ-A140/130 diodes) will ever be round. It's just how the are designed.

    low-power 445nm diodes? (5-50mW-like)

None that I know of, which is why I made my own. http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/445nm-chrome-leadlight-pen-host-65mw-lots-pics-55026.html

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

Thanks! :yh: And not sure how much more power you could squeeze out with this pen host. Even with 65mW it heats up quite quickly. Since it is at least 275mA or more. Although to be honest I am not too sure how hot 'too hot' really is with one of these. When I feel the pen getting warn at...

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

I didn't realize the diode would require less voltage at a lower current. I am so used to the 405 diodes always being around 5v or so. I figured they were always at the same voltage. Well, that is certainly good to hear! Cause the rkcstr + a 5v diode would only give about 0.7v of...

Ok, here is what it looks like without a lens. Not sure what mode this is. Anybody who does, feel free to chime in!

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

Thanks! Yeah, these pens are great quality. And the clip is a major bonus for me. Although since there is very little heatsinking going on, it's duty cycle is pretty strict. So it's not going to be too useful for burning purposes. And I think I have access to the lens, it is a standard...

FS: New Pen Host Kits! Switch board with Spring Option - Nice!

Just a update for anybody who is interested. I built a 445nm 65mW into this host (the chrome one). And it works great! See here for more details and lots of pics. :) http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/445nm-chrome-leadlight-pen-host-65mw-lots-pics-55026.html
