to bad... it was probably pot modded from the factory and gave it a shorter life

just solder the to the boards dont go to the sockets. its very simple. and for thickness 1/4"-1/2" should be good.

the sound card also still works as a sound card if you want :) but as mario said no you cant just plug in into the jacks you need to solder before the capacitors
