    Shooting down flies with laser?

Why not just look it up on google before posting all that other logic and reasoning?

    What watch are you wearing?

It's nice to see some fine watches here, not just casios:) I'm into watches, but dont have the money for Rolex. Not that I terribly want one either, but they do keep their value incredibly well. You can buy one this year and sell it for the same price next year, maybe a loss of $100-300 tops...

    Shooting down flies with laser?

There is a laser mosquito zapper that works. Google it, there are also videos of it working. It's pretty cool.:)

Perfect time for that NOW! ;) EDIT: oh man, I was 4:20 for me, but the forum thinks it's 4:29. oh well, any time is 4.20...

    We've all done it...

It was actual 100F on one summer day in Boston 2 years ago. I rode my motorcycle with no protective jacket, literally in a t-shirt, jeans and helmet... It was soooo hot that when I rode during lunch my body felt like a giant hairdryer had been pointed at me. When I rode home I took a diff...

Do you think the futures owens are driven by lasers?

You want as even of a distribution of heat as possible when cooking. The times when you would want localized heat are very few, "creme brulee" is one: you'd have a cold base of custard covered by sugar and quickly singe the top with fire (torch lighter) to make the sugar melt an form a hard...

Do you think the futures owens are driven by lasers?

Why not just shoot heat at it like it is now and be done?

    Riddles

YAY! I am still at work, so I'll have to watch the vid later. Our solution was kinda hard to get your head around all at once, so I'd love to see if these people have a better way to explain it. I did not come up with this myself, it took me and 5 other engineers the whole lunch hour to...

DIY Thermal LPM for under $50

This is not always true! I bought a panel meter on ebay thinking the same thing, it's a 0-99.0V. I even had an email exchange with the seller about it. Their design did not have a simple resistor value feature for moving the "dot":( Others do have that, look very closely at pictures of the...

    Riddles

For the case of 50 logicians it would take 50 light switches: everyone would stay and all will leave at the same time after the last flip?

    Riddles

They will all leave the first time lights go off: once it's dark they will all touch their heads and realize they're painted.:)

    Search People!!!

I always do: Ctrl+K in FF, "site:http://laserpointerforums.com <query>". But the basic idea is that the stock engine in vBulletin doesn't handle 3 character terms well. Most of the stuff is abbreviated to TLA's around here:)

    Planning DIY TPS63000 based driver

Congrats on getting it to work! What was the voltage drop through the load, and for how long could you run it and still stay cool at 750mA?

Review of the Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser

Re: Review of the Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue Laser But then it had a 30x increase in power output when hot!:)

    Question on test loads

    I think you got it.:)

    Question on test loads

Yep, that's the main reason: not to risk the diode first. You have to have a test-load in order to see the current value, do not rely on your DMM's internals. You do not need a 1Ohm resistor, you can connect the DMM in series with the test-load and set it to measure mA. If a driver is working...

Video: Laser Popcorn! - Yes! It Can Be Done at Home! :-D

Very cool, I like how you handled making the heat spread evenly! Oh, and may I suggest the song by Kraftwerk to add as soundtrack to your video?:)

    Question on test loads

How can you say ^that^ and then ask this question? Another way to think about it: why is everyone here using test-loads, it can't be because they haven't thought of it?.. Here is a link to one of my favorite comprehensive build threads. there are others with even more detail, search some...

    Priceangels <200mW greenie

Eh, a focusable 18650 green with a safety switch and a momentary side clicky and 50mW output? That's not so bad for $30. But only if it turns out to last long and doesnt die after a few months... The 200mW stated output is a pretty obscene lie though:) Thanks for buying one and testing it!

Does it lase? Yes. Yes it does.

Use a motherboard standoff and a pair of tongue-and-groove pliers.
