3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

After looking at the diode it looks like the small glass window on the diode might be cracked or chipped away, what is the glass for and can i remove it?

3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

Ok my laser just started to have a weird laser beam pattern, the diode has not been over heated. I keep it below its max temp with a duty cycle of 30s on and 180s off, it takes 180s it drop to about 37oc(from 50oc) then 35s to rise to 47-48oc. I measured the back of the diode where the pins are...

Awesome host and heatsink for $6.76!

Yes, we use very specialized technique to extract everything inside the flashlight, Here is one of my favourite technique :gun:

Awesome host and heatsink for $6.76!

I stuck a screw driver into the plastic at the front of the host and i pulled the plastic out by levering the screw driver. If you cant get it out with the screw driver try making a hole in the plastic and pull it out with a pair of pliers. Once you got that plastic lens out everything else...

Awesome host and heatsink for $6.76!

jwjser just remove one of the chip from the driver, and solder the red wire from the driver to the red wire of the diode, and the black/blue wire from the driver to the black wire of the diode, you may have to unscrew the end of the module for it to fit.

    9mm 445nm (NDB7875) duty cycle.

I have just been looking at other laser diodes, and the only real difference between them is that this one has a higher output, but it is not really any more efficient with heat output, then any other diodes so it would be a waste to run it at a lower current, guess I have to buy a new host. Do...

    9mm 445nm (NDB7875) duty cycle.

I just build a 3W laser with the NDB7875 and Survival Laser Stainless Steel Host Assembly, Extended and Tapered Heat Sink, but it only has a duty cycle of 35s on and 180s off which I don't like, I worked out it is giving off 8.75W of heat, if I run it at 1A 4.4V it will have a laser output of...

3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

I just done the tests and running the diode at 2.4A it has a duty cycle of 35s on and 180s off, that is with the diode reaching right near its max of 50c degrees celsius.

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

I know but they don't make it easy to use there site, I just joined and I cant find my posts, I don't really like there site because its not very user friendly, altho I do like there image insert feature.

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

there are 3 resistors for every led, is that protection? I tested with wiring up 5 in series and connecting 5 lots of them and they seem to work fine.

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

Thanks for your help ionlaser555. And yes i just realize if i connect anymore then 5 they get to dim so i am going to get some 3 way terminal blocks and have 5 in series.

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

so the led strip lights wont draw as much current as they can they will only draw what they need?

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

Do all of the LED have to be plugged in, if I only plug 1 in would the current kill it?

Led Strip lights and Power supply Help?

I recently bought 50 of these 12v 15W led strip lights with heat sinks and 2 400w Power supply's. Can I connect 25 of the strip lights for a total of 375W to one of the terminals on the power supply? 50 12v 15W led strip lights & 2 400W PSU ///// 25 Strip...

3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

Ahh damit I didn't see that tube, but If you use good battery's like AW IMR 18350 700mAh or Efest IMR 18350 V2 800mah or Efest IMR 18350 700mah purple 2014 you should get about 30-40Mins, according to this graph and this calculator. Same I'm afraid of it overheating, but when I get the...

3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

I don't even have a heat sink on the x-drive and it is recommend 60 second without a heat sink. When the thermometer arrives I will test the laser diode and if it can stay on longer then 60 seconds I will get some thermal glue and a heatsink for the x-drive. and thanks for reminding me about the...

3W 445nm Survival laser Stainless Steel build!

I do love Stainless Steel hosts too, they feel nice and heavy plus there super strong unlike aluminium, which is very light and feels like your holding air, or that its going to float away lol. That made me think, when is someone going to make a host out of gold and do a gold build, I have seen...

How to remove oxide from laser module?

Brasso? I have never heard of it but for only £2.50 for 150ML I have to try it! Gotta polish my hosts some how.
