The Pain of Beam Combining...I See Red!

Nice. How are you running the diodes from the FlexMod? Series or parallel w/ balance resistor? I'm just starting to work on doing the same for my projector. I've got the 2 LOC's in their modules, starting to work on the mounting plate now.

DMX Controller Advice (Updated with more questions)

Re: DMX Controller Advice If you want to have actual control of the output(i.e. make your own banners), I'm pretty sure you will need to move to ILDA control software, as DMX's are preprogrammed, without the option to edit the data.

    Parts list

Galvo's, correction amp, soundcard, laser, driver for the laser if it doesn't have one(http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/FlexModP3.php), Power supply for the driver(Can get a cheap 12v psu off ebay for $15). Some sort of mount for the laser(depends on what laser you have) Something to...

    18650 Battery question.

A normal charger will work fine. You can tell if a battery is protected by the '-' end having a circuit board instead of a metal end. The difference is pretty obvious.

Cannot get TTL modulation to work on flexmod

Did you try just applying the signal to Mod+? I assume you already did the jumper and set the currents as described in the manual.

Cannot get TTL modulation to work on flexmod

Add more diodes to total the voltage drop you expect for your final laser diode. i.e. 6 diodes for a blu-ray, 5 for a 445, 4 for a red, or 3 for a IR.

The real high power and full range DIY laser diode driver *new version 3*

Re: The real high power and full range DIY laser diode driver *updated!* Attempted to do a board layout in eagle, talk about a pita. 4 hrs later all I could manage was a single sided board with 1 jumper wire for a trace I could not manage to route.

    AixiZ 445nm lens...

Got my replacements today. Both reflect gold. Checked the power and beam. Power went from 386 to 409mW with the new lens, and beam quality is excellent.

    Modulation frequency for Green

I had looked in to getting DZ's correction board, but he closed the store. I plan on upgrading to Stanwax's ILDA interface board, and getting his correction daughterboard when available. My projector works reasonably well given the time and money put into it, but there are still improvements...

The first time you've seen a new wavelength

The first time I powered up my 445 was magical. Having had 632 and 543 for 20+ yrs, 650 and 532 didn't dazzle me near as much as the 445. I first saw 614nm, 23 yrs ago, but at only .2mw it didn't really amaze me much.
