    weird 532nm color

Red can be 532nm. Just lase a 650nm red laser through a medium with a refractive index of 1.2218, and you've done it. You have 532nm red light (only inside that medium)!!! If you want an explanation, just tell me.

Laser Driver v Simple Resistor ?

I built a 5mW 635nm laser 2 weeks ago, using the switching voltage driver that came with the host. It was giving 3 stable volts out of 1xAAA battery. After testing my diode's voltage drop with a rkcstr driver and calculating the required resistor I got it working. With the required tolerance...

Laser Driver v Simple Resistor ?

j33z, you are completely right, I made a mistake. The temperature sensitive devices are the diodes. They slightly vary their voltage drop with temperature, not very much, but more than resistors. For example, if you were driving a blu-ray with a 5.5V supply, you'd want a 0.5V drop to feed the...

    Mounting PHR-803T Directly to PCB

No. there's not enough space for a 1.6mm PCB, but you can just remove the unused pin to have space, or use a 0.8mm PCB.

Laser Driver v Simple Resistor ?

Well, as I said before, that's not the real safe way, because we are talking about low value resistors, which are temperature dependant, so using a real driver is the way to go. However, for small projects, my method can work. Here's the LM317T datasheet...

Laser Driver v Simple Resistor ?

Read the whole post :) I told him that if he was going to use a resistor, he had to add a voltage regulator circuit to avoid spikes.

Tell me everything i should know about Iowa

Yeah but you haz way too many laz0rs!!! My bud isn't oposed to religions, he's just not religious and he won't want to folluw strict religious rules, like going to the church several times per week or things like that. I'm also thinking about going to live to the US when i grow up, because...

Laser Driver v Simple Resistor ?

Well, if you had a voltage regulated source (not a battery) you could use a simple resistor... but... they are temperature dependant and not as stable as you would like. IF you use a simple resistor, choose a value with a GREAT tolerance. If your diode can handle up to 200mA, set to 160 with the...

Tell me everything i should know about Iowa

Oh... thanks. Here in europe we don't use to know anything about american culture except what happens in your movies... Religion was one of his main concerns, because he is not religious at all, and he was scared to find himself in a very religious society, having to follow it's religious rules...

Tell me everything i should know about Iowa

He is going to Ottumwa, don't know where it is. it looks like a great city from its website These are the things i want to know: 1º) How religious is the people there, and how tolerant to other religions (specially to non religious people) 2º) How open minded is the people there. I mean, if sex...

Tell me everything i should know about Iowa

I have a friend (spanish) that is going to spend a year in Iowa. I've searched and it doesn't look as a bad state to live. Is there anything, good or bad, that he should know about Iowa? Smething related to religions, safety, education, how open-minded is the people there...

    WTB Low-medium power Blu-Ray diode

fisrt one is a gb... but thanks for the second one! Didn't see that thread! I just searched for member's stores, like xlasers, modwerx, daedallasers or hitechdealz

    WTB Low-medium power Blu-Ray diode

I've searched in some places, and the cheapest I can get a PHR is $15 shipped.... If you tell me where to get a PHR for about $10-12 shipped, i'll go for the phr. I just was looking for something that could be cheaper... but I planned to buy a PHR soon, when school ends and i get goggles

    WTB Low-medium power Blu-Ray diode

Yeah, but i'm looking for something less powerful and cheaper than a PHR. If i can't find it, i'll go for a PHR, and when I get goggles, i'll just increase the current.

    WTB Low-medium power Blu-Ray diode

I NEED to see 405nm as soon as possible. I could buy a regular PHR, but its power scares me, and i'd had to buy goggles yes or yes I want a cheap, low or medium powered blu-ray diode. Anything that can do 20-40mW. Just to see 405nm light and to have a cheap, "not very dangerous " pointer. I'l...

    Laseer on helium balloon idea

Just what you said, multiple cells at a time, and antennas emmiting as "umbrellas". But nah, if it works in a plane (hadn't thought about that) it would work with your hellium balloon. Just ensure to add something to turn everything off if you lose contact with the balloon. And use an anonimous...

    IR Thermometer for $8

Hey, i'm notin the US so i couldn't buy this thermometer. Could you buy it for me, and send it with the cheapest shipping costs? I'll pay you thermometer+shipping+a fee for bothering to buy it for me How about $12?
