    Anyone good at chemistry?

I think it is some kind of trivial name, as its correct systematical name would be (6aR,10aR)-6,6,9-Trimethyl- 3-pentyl-6a,7,8,10a-tetrahydro- 6H-benzo[c]chromen-1-ol. ;D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrahydrocannabinol ArRaY

That is something you call a 'supercontinuum laser', this beauty kicks out the entire visible spectrum... It is some kind of special fibre laser... a photonic crystal fiber is used to achieve this. It works the same way as a green laser for example, where a nonlinear optical crystal is pumped to...

    Colors

That is the way a white led works... Basicly it is a blue led with a layer of a yellow colored phospor, which converts parts of the blue light to yellow, and the yellow and blue give you white. ArRaY

Building my first red laser, need help

So the 'soft start' is a feature? Kinda like the infamous 'It is a feature, not a bug'? ;) I do not want to say the flexdrive is not good ;), but I always though that it was some kind of limitation because of the drivers architecture... ArRaY

Help opening up Nova Alpha series laser

I think the 2 copper wires have to make contact somehow to allow the laser to start. You know, kinda like the dongle at the end... Could you accidently screwed ther placing/location up? :-[ ArRaY

    Help deciding

The cni is a good decision, but I doubt that it will be strong enough for your needs... That is about thermal power, not optical visibility. It will be very well visible at dusk or in the night. http://www.novalasers.com/NOVAstore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=16 Scroll down a bit, and you will see...

    Testing DDl's circuit

A good testload would be 4 of those diodes in series. The formula was 1.25 / R = I in Amps.

    Help deciding

As far as I know, the Romisens only come in 30mW. There is a variety of hosts to choose between, though. I would go with a romisen first, preferably the C030, and if you like green lasers then, I would get a higher powered X50-150, depends on your preferance, budget and if you can justify...

    Help deciding

I would recommend the L-C030. It is a very great laser, it has a 'real' switch opposed a momentary switch, it is very well heatsinked, wich means you can leave it on for longer periods of time, very easy modable(although I won´t recommend that...),has a great and sturdy feel and a serious wow...

why is firefox so damn silly???

Ahhh... Not quite sure if you got his point...? He does not want to get rid of his personal data, he is concerned about the memory firefox uses, as it tends to increase to very high values... When I used firefox, I never noticed any laggs, but I never checked the memory it used. I use Opera...
