Ok, got my wire today... WOW this stuff is beyond awesome, no stress at ALL on any joints, easy to tin, and insulation doesnt even come close to melting! this stuff is the best man! Hey, i think it's time i get my hands on some of this legendary stuff, can i get 20ft red and 20ft black? also a 1ml syringe of flux :) not sure how to order, since no site, etc so thought i'd just post it here?

Also, metered it on a calibrated laboratory solar radiation thermopile sensor and got 127mW output. this was not meant for lasers, but i think it gives a rough idea. any idea if this is a reasonable number?

Update: Finished assembly!!! WOOT! Got the driver finished, its putting out 126mA to the diode, which is mounted in an aixiz module. Got it all together, insulated and finished up inside a hotlights host! The insides are ugly as all get out, but it feels awesome having finished my first laser...

hmm, doesn't seem too bad, no reason not to give it a try. would you need anything fancy done or just plain old aluminum cylinders? :P i have plenty of aluminum to work with, but if you need copper, i would need time to get some stock of it.

haha, well i have a small cnc mill that was not bought for laser purposes haha, and i have access to, but don't own, a lathe. I'm in central-ish Alabama btw ;) nearby perhaps or oh-so-far away?
