    3.5W NDB7A75 445nm Laser Diode

So realistically what's the lifespan of this diode running it off a 3.5A driver that's well heatsinked? how many hours of MTTF?

    Help with TrustFire clone

Ok bumping this one up. I've been busy and haven't had time to look into this. Anyway I have some time now, and I've found some of the information you have asked for: In between the LED piece and batteries, there's a cylindrical space of height: 1.75" vs a circumference of 4.5" The 12 LED's...

    SOLD: 4.2W NDB7A75 445nm handheld With G7

Re: FS: 5.4W NDB7A75 445nm handheld With G2+G7 - the Sliver Star price lowered! I am interested in one of these. However, if I understand, you are getting 5w+ out of one 9mm 445nm diode? Even with the best heatsinking, what's the life expectancy of a 9mm 445nm diode running this much power?

Wow you actually stared at the dot of that thing without protection?

    Help with TrustFire clone

Ok cool thanks for the info man. I've already taken the bad driver out. The diameter/circumference seems to be about the same as a 28650 style battery. there's probably a good 2" depth available as well. I'll take specific measurements tomorow. As for the LED's, a quick tracing of the wire...

    Help with TrustFire clone

Hey guys. I just got a chinese TrustFire 12XT6 clone given to me. It has a burnt driver bu the LED's are ok. So my understanding is that the driver for this light is a current controlled driver that supplies a constant 3A, with an input of 12vdc. I've seen a couple of replacement drivers on...

A new way to make laser-like beams using 250x less power

Dammit that real science always gets in the way of the cool "science!" :(

This is what a 'Star Wars' blaster bolt would look like in real life

Danafex! holy crap!! awesome video!! the ones shooting at the camera are freakin' awesome. I will nit pick even further. I like Star Wars as an amalgamation of a cool story, with a huge amount of fantasy masquerading as science fiction, and a bunch of outright mystical stuff to boot. The...

Question about the 1w 520nm diodes

Oh wow! thanks to thengine and lazeristasUVISIR for that incredibly detailed information!! 11w is a lot of heat for such little surface area! yikes!. Still a worthy project though. I wonder if the prices on those diodes will fall. Even twice the cost of a 9mm 445 would still be a phenomenal deal!

    Ebay greenies and IR

Wow that's great info! I have like 10 old Webcams lying around here doing nothing. I'll try a couple of their lenses and see the results I get. I've thought about getting some goggles that filter both 532mn and IR frequencies, but they are usually very pricey. As I don't own any significant...

    Ebay greenies and IR

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a Radiant LPM and started to measure all my green laser pointers. It looks like most of them range from 30 to 50mW, and I'm sure a large percentage of that is IR. I plan to buy some IR filters and retest with the filter on (to see how much mW is IR) Let's...

Question about the 1w 520nm diodes

it's ok, 13 cents Euro is probably the equivalent of a Canadian dollar anyway lmao. But yeah I will check out some currency conversion places.

Question about the 1w 520nm diodes

lol that's too awesome man!! I wonder how Canadian currency would stack up to do duty as a heatsink :) Any chance I could purchase a few of those coins from you? ;)

Question about the 1w 520nm diodes

Hello everyone. I'm starting to get the itch to build something with a 1w 520nm diode. From the spec sheet, it looks like it's designed to use a max of 1.7A of current (and this is where it will achieve the approx 1w of output). So assuming that I build a unit that tops out at 1.7A, what's...

Hmm, good point lol. Sorry force of habit to think Green = IR :na: As you said, specs would be nice :)

    1w 520nm $500 obo

I'd like some specs too, particularly what kind of diode, driver, and how much runtime is on it. I'm guessing there's no IR filter in it either? Is it this diode? https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/ndg-1w-520nm
