    My Laser Driver Circuit!

I would use a pair of 18650 or similar. There is an interesting old article in Radio Electronics magazine November 1990 to power a diode with similar requirements and a 3rd pin photodiode.

Any ideas why the laser dot would look like this?

Air from compressor may be oily. There are filters available for them, but I never tried. Also, be careful with alcohol on acrylic lenses due to crazing.

Any ideas why the laser dot would look like this?

I have had pretty good luck with using canned air to blow the liquid off.

Need help finding dichroic mirrors with limited budget

https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/high-power-rgb.104854/#post-1565748 I got lucky with an e-bay used set, but it has been some time ago. Thor labs sells them, but I don't know price.

    Diy Holograms

Many argon lasers produce extremely high quality beams which are ideal for holography. The problem is vibrations. Holograms are very sensitive to the smallest of vibrations during film/plate exposure. This makes set up cumbersome as the laser would need to be remotely located. There are a few...

New to lpf, looking to make a hologram

Integraf kits are a good starting point. You will likely start adding your own components very quickly to their basic kits. https://www.integraf.com/

Need help finding/designing a constant current driver for PLT3 520D by OSRAM

Yes, BB8. You can get lower current using its PWM/ analog input pins.

    Parking Lasers Dangerous?

I used to install garage door openers professionally. The parking lasers are very low power reds (don't remember exact mW). They are very rarely used compared to the much more popular tennis ball on a string hung from the ceiling.

    Continuous wave?

Many are. It depends on which driver you use. The Black Buck 8M comes to mind, but they may be out of stock.

10600nm Laser for less than 200$?

10.6 micron is CO2 line. The laser itself can easily be had for $200.00 and at much more than 10W. I do not know about coupling to a handheld emitter. https://www.cloudraylaser.com/

Will trade USD for a HR mirror for 1319 nm.

I have some yellow mirrors you can have. One set from HeNe OC/HR 594, and an SFPI set also 594. You would be on your own to identify which is which. They are in perfect condition, originally purchased from Sam G. You are welcome to them if you think you can use them...

Noob looking into “less lethal” laser options any help?

Someone once asked my first martial arts instructor what to do if someone pulled a gun. His response was, "Ask him what he wants, then give it to him."

    Photographing Laser Pulse

Wow. Thanks Steve... and everyone else. I definitely have some things to think about. I discovered today that the ISO settings on my camera are not adjustable in spite of there being a menu slot for them. It appears that they were available on earlier versions of this camera. The "spot on the...

    Photographing Laser Pulse

Yes. This is essentially the Scientific American dye laser. Fire rate can be once every few seconds, but I always allow cool down time for the lamp. This is not my first version of this laser... I have blown up many lamps over the years and lived and learned. The laser pulse is extremely...

    Photographing Laser Pulse

Today I will try "sport mode" which takes several photos in rapid succession. Maybe I can get lucky and catch the pulses.

    Photographing Laser Pulse

This is a spin off from my dye laser thread. The laser itself is fully operational, however, photographing it to share with everyone has introduced its own set of problems. When I try to photograph the laser spot on a target (6"x6" white card) all that comes out is an evenly yellow illuminated...

    Sept 11 to remember

As some of you may know, I am a Tae Kwon Do master. The first tenet in our honor code is respect for country. Since 2002, on 9/11, every year we have conducted a rigorous outdoor training session at a local park. During practice all black belts are required to carry an American flag at all...

Repair of a partially dead LD

Just curious, what diode are you using? It is my understanding that there are very very few that can be used for interferometry due to coherence length.
