So I'm building a 445nm laser, and what I have now is a diode pressed into an AixiZ housing and then that goes in an aluminum heatsink and held together by a set screw... which is lame. I have a nice section of 1 1/8 inch copper rod here and I'd like to machine it so the laser diode presses...
