Casio XJ-A130 DLP Projector $689.98 SHIPPED

IMO, shooting a half watt laser at someone's face is the same as shooting a gun at someone's face. Blindness for life is almost as bad as death, and I wouldn't blind someone unless I were also willing to kill them. In the hands of a true idiot, lasers are more dangerous than guns, and they are...

    ROUND 4 SOLD OUT!! - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy.

Re: ROUND 4 SOLD!! - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy. Oh, ok. It never hurts to double check! :gj:

Re: ROUND 4 SOLD!! - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy. Yeah, that's my Paypal. For future reference, how do I add a message to the money sent? There is a field at the bottom to send an email, but is there another place to send a message?

Re: ROUND 4 SOLD!! - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy. Payment sent! :D :D :D I think I'll overdrive the sh:shhh:t out of my first one until it busts, and tell the world the breaking point. Then I'll keep the second one safe.

Casio XJ-A130 DLP Projector $689.98 SHIPPED

Maybe it's just my libertarianism speaking here, but I think it's wrong to exclude someone from buying something based on experience. Idiots will be idiots no matter what. Giving idiots more weapons thins out the idiot population. We can tell idiots not to drink and drive, but that doesn't mean...

    ROUND 4 SOLD OUT!! - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy.

Re: ROUND 4 - CHEAP 445nm 5.6mm (true-blue) diode group buy. How much current do you think your SS CR2 hosts can handle, jayrob? I'm not experienced with pushing insane currents through tiny hosts, and I saw here that people's tail clickers are melting. :eek...

    RIP BDR-205 diode

I did some more research on these desoldering tools (yay Google), and I found that there is a thing called a solder wick, and also something called a solder sucker. "The choice of your solder removing device is also important. There are two main ones; vacuum pumps (solder suckers) and solder...

    RIP BDR-205 diode

That's a really good idea! I could really care less about my wall when working with a diode. I could put my cat in front of the wall so I don't get any solder on the wall. I was using one of those little blue rubber air/water hand squeeze things (I don't know what they're called haha)...

    RIP BDR-205 diode

$360?? That's horrible! Your pain makes mine a little more bearable. I found a new BDR-205 on Directron for $183, so I went ahead and ordered that. There goes 2 weeks' pay for me... :barf: This reminds me of how they used to bury people who were thought to be dead, but were really in comas.

    RIP BDR-205 diode

I already tossed it... The mess was really really bad and it didn't look fixable, but now I'm regretting it. I tried using a makeshift solder sucker, but there was no way I could have gotten all of it out. I would go digging through the garbage so I could send it to you, Flaminpryo, but it's...

    RIP BDR-205 diode

I just got my new 12x blu-ray burner today, opened it up, and extracted the diode from it. Following a video by Rkcstr on his Youtube channel, I put a tiny glob of solder on the tip of my iron and touched it to the diode's pins, and simultaneously pulled the ribbon off. All was swell until I...

O-like vs Focalprice vs Dragon Lasers glasses

I have heard a lot of good things about Dragon Lasers. I ordered theirs and a $20 pair from O-Like. I'm just going to test both of them, and if the O-like ones aren't too bad I might let people around me use them when I'm showing them my lasers. I'll take pics of the comparison in a few days.

    I'm seeing colors, help!

This thread is ancient... It's been killed and revived SO many times. Now it's all nasty, like food you freeze then cook then freeze then cook. Stop posting in it.

    Um... oops

Back to what he needs this laser for... If what you want is to to transfer power from one point to another wirelessly, then I really really wouldn't recommend doing it with a green one, because greens are highly inefficient. The only reason they are so popular is because green is the most...

    Um... oops

He was probably confused and just saw the word "green" in the description and thought that would do the trick. Once upon a time, we were all noobs...

multiple 16x red diode light saber

I'm not on acid, I never have been on acid, and I don't plan on doing acid. I was alluding to earlier in the thread... :tsk:

    Um... oops

The wavelength 808 nm is IR. You could see that IR if you viewed it on a screen through a digital camera or webcam, because they pick up IR. Green is made using a 1064 nm diode and special crystals that halve the wavelength. Look around this site if you want to know how to do that.

multiple 16x red diode light saber

Old topics are still fun when you're on acid. :p I think there are 1kW CO2 lasers used for industrial purposes out there. You could put some of those together and focus them at a point if you really wanted.

multiple 16x red diode light saber

I don't see much of a point to using lasers in a lightsaber when you could just have an infinite range. Why limit your weapon's capability to only destroying whatever is 5 feet in front of you? Even if you realized that you can't shove that much current through those diodes, the beams would go...
