    Drivers for 445

Does anyone know of a driver that can power a 445nm diode at over 1.5 Amps? I believe the MicroBoost only goes up to 1A and the Flexdrive only goes up to 1.5A. I'm not sure if the Flexdrive can power a high voltage diode even at 1.5A though. I want to see how hard I can push these, especially...

CLOSED * GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear I'm so bad at math... I can't believe I passed a calculus class only a month ago. By the way, you don't have to post just to tell the world in large print that you repped someone. If they helped you, just rep them. It's just a pet peeve of...

Confirmation of cancer causing properties for 445nm please

Blue isn't the most visible light to the human eye. Green is. I believe 445nm might be the least visible wavelength that is commonly used in lasers with the exception of blu-ray (405nm). Here is a graph of the eye's response to light of all wavelengths. I got that from MFO's laser building...

CLOSED * GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear

Re: GB for OEM Laser Systems protective eyewear For anyone who isn't informed about optical density, Wikipedia is your friend. What that formula says is that an OD of 1 will let 10% of the light of that wavelength through. An OD of 2 will let 1% of the light of that wavelength through. OD 3...

What the !&@# is this legit???????

The whole world realized that cheap 1 Watt 445nm lasers are legit a couple weeks ago. There's even a whole category on this forum dedicated to them. 445nm Laser category

Unable to detect current through dummy load

Yeah, the Wikipedia article explains it. It's really because of the sound quality, which is (supposedly) unparalleled by any other violin. There's just so much demand for these insanely high quality instruments, and there are so few of them. Another really interesting thing about most string...

Unable to detect current through dummy load

I play mainly upright bass, and $50,000 dollars is about average for professionals. Since you are talking about the top of the line instruments, Stradivarius violins sell for as much as $3.5 million. I don't think anyone owns a laser worth $3.5 million, with the possible exception of the...

Unable to detect current through dummy load

:D Yay! Haha, I know that fact far too well. My other hobby is playing acoustic instruments. Those are the only things known to man to be more expensive than lasers, and I chose to do both of them! :p At least my new BDR-205 diode is safely in a module and heatsink. ;) I couldn't afford to...

Unable to detect current through dummy load

Thanks for the reply. I checked out the driver under magnification, and it turned out my battery - joint was a little sloppy. Even under my huge magnifying glass, I couldn't tell whether it was touching one of the nearby components, but it looked like it could be. I cleaned it up a little bit...

Unable to detect current through dummy load

I'm in the middle of setting up a jayrob ss cr2 build, and I've basically put everything together. I just have to connect the driver to the diode, put it in the host and turn it on. I tried testing the circuit using a Rkcstr test load, and my multimeter is picking up absolutely nothing. I know...

Using a Blu-ray burner after extracting diode

As I was extracting a diode from my BDR-205, ripping off ribbon cable after ribbon cable, a though came across my mind. If I didn't already rip everything off the board, would it still be possible to still use the drive for everything EXCEPT burning blu-rays? It wouldn't really be too hard to...

    I'M BACK!!With my Awesome New 10x LAZERGUNN

*hug* *handshake* Sweet build! I think putting lasers in water pistols is a really good idea. @Anselmo One man's garbage is another man's treasure. That thing just looks REALLY cool.

Casio XJ-A130 DLP Projector $689.98 SHIPPED

Did Italy have a problem with people purposefully torturing themselves with lasers before this law? I'm just sort of imagining someone grabbing a 1mW laser and being like "Hey, lets see if we can look into this thing long enough to go blind!"

    445nm diode FS

Ok, sorry. I'm not really looking for profit; I just want to sell it and minimize my losses. I'll post when it gets here. IMHO auctions are awesome, but if that doesn't float your boat then it's fine by me. I'll post when it gets here.

    445nm diode FS

*shrug* Why not? I'd like to get this off my hands anyway. I'm sort of regretting ordering a second since I'm looking at some greenies I need money for. :) Who's willing to pay more? :D I would need $50 +shipping minimum, which would make the total $55 to the continental US I believe. I haven't...

Casio XJ-A130 DLP Projector $689.98 SHIPPED

Government helping people??? That would be a first. I think high powered IR didn't really become an issue because most people aren't attracted to them like they are to these blue ones. Usually only serious laser enthusiasts or industrial people care to use them.

    445nm diode FS

Somehow  the search bar hasn't been so friendly for me on this issue. Most of the search terms I could think of didn't get me anything useful... :yabbem: I did another search just now and didn't find anything. I checked all of the recent BST and 445nm threads and didn't find anything...

    445nm diode FS

I've seen a lot of people looking for these, and Elektrofreak isn't doing group buys on them any more. I ordered two, and since I won't be using both of them for a while, I have decided that it would be best for everyone to sell the second to someone who wants it more than I do. If anyone...
