Scorpion King 7.3W of beam expanded insanity!

It's a 'knife edge' setup with the beams standing side by side like |||. Output beam is approx 3x3mm then pass into a 4x expander which puts out a square'ish beam that focuses down to desired size. It actually appears more round than it does square, and makes the beam look so much better than...

Scorpion King 7.3W of beam expanded insanity!

Been a while since posting here. Felt my latest laser was worthy of sharing with such a large group of enthusiasts. This laser was a custom order for a gent who is already using a WL Arctic to kill off some nasty little critters at his ranch. He approached me for what finally developed into a...

Review of the Wicked Lasers Beam Expander

Got ya.. My next tests will be at 1km, just waiting for the test area to dry up.

Review of the Wicked Lasers Beam Expander

This is where things are becoming unclear.. To my understanding a 10x would be rated by the size of the output beam in relation to the input beam, both parallel / collimated. The divergence for example on my 4x expanders reduces from the input beam of 2.5mRad down to .049mRad which is a...

Review of the Wicked Lasers Beam Expander

10x expanders are nothing new.. for 532nm at least. Id like to see the specs on its performance when mounted to the 445nm laser. What is the output beam size? divergence? optical losses? The rest of the info is pretty much meaningless..

Where to buy laser in Canada?

IIRC they stopped selling over 5mW to Canada customers, That whole health canada thing from 2010 allows them to export, but not sell locally. I dont even think its legal to give a 3b or class 4 away as a gift, let alone sell...

    WTB: B&W Tek 473nm

Its not a direct beam you're collecting with the paper, and what little amount escapes the cavity, its easily absorbed and reflected back off the paper. RE: your other post, you never ran the laser for an extended period other than the 25mins you just ran it for? All DPSS need some time to...

    demystifying 808nm laser diode

Understood, but why claim that 100W of 808nm could not cut foil? or any metal for that matter? Too shiny? Those are false statements. This is 15W cutting through a highly reflective 0.2mm stainless steel: mVmUIBbsES8 Besides, who uses any laser without optics? 60W 808 can also etch / cut glass...

    WTB: B&W Tek 473nm

I should have been a bit clearer. By disconnected I meant physically. Some of the TEC's separate / split, or break loose from their gule, and same with the crystal set mount. They are all glued in place and when they lift out of position, or do not cool properly, the power does what you are...

    WTB: B&W Tek 473nm

Sounds like a broken or dismounted or even disconnected TEC on the crystal set. Crack it open and examine that nothing is loose. Seen this on 4 or 5 units out of 30. Just dont fire it up without the cover unless you have 808-1064 protection.

My Wicked lasers Beam expander :)

The loss is 1% per lens, average 2% loss on 445nm, 532nm is approx 5% loss, 473nm should be in between. @OP, nice pics, glad it made it in one piece and works well with your laser. Some of the Arctics as of late are put together very crooked, off center beam etc which will translate into the...

    is this a good deal?

I have a scope, but never bothered. The first arctic I got had badly stripped tail cap threads, and just converted it for optics testing. The driver is sitting in a drawer if you want it. Just cover the shipping. Its missing the batt monitor LED board, I used that for something else. IIRC, the...

    is this a good deal?

I recently acquired a Krypton and an Arctic, if that laser is this same 'revised' version by way of construction, I would avoid it at all cost. I will be posting a review of my lasers, with some shocking observations. Seems they will not stop at anything to save on production costs... Just a...

    World's biggest laser idiots

I refer to the operator alone in that vid as the others obviously just dont realize the hazard in front of them. Though the producers of that show should have. The guy with the laser for those who dont know him is none other than John Hutchinson, father of the infamous 'Hutchinson Effect'. A BC...

    Beam expander for dominator.

I have 4x expanders on ebay which are threaded to fit the WL Arctic S3. I can make an adapter to fit over the head of any laser, but would need measurements. You can contact me via ebay messaging for details if interested. These are Galilean type with less than 2% loss @ 445nm Link...

    Multiple Diode laser

There are several ways to set the alignment, one of the best solutions I have found in my duals and other concepts im working on is to make a rig specifically for the aligning process, using a telescope to view the dot over a great distance. At least this way you don't have to worry about a gap...

Quick simple high transmission lens with an old PHR sled / Tutorial video included

Appreciate it  The only issue with this setup is the lenses are acrylic, so its not always a feasible arrangement for most. Its hard to find a PHR sled with a good condition asphere. Unless its in pristine condition, the more power you pass through, the more chance you will burn it up...

Making A super long range IR remote with IR laser diode

Then it would make sense to keep with a less dangerous LED, would it not? You could open up the 'dot' so at the given range, it is 10ft or so in dia. You would only have to point in the general direction without worry of specular reflection. Even at 5mW, it would be effective and safe. Laser...
