There is a video on how to assemble this host made by a member here. It shows how to screw the heat sink and pill by holding both sides with your thumb and finger and turning with your other hand? I couldn't seam to find it last night. If anyone knows what I'm talking about it might help him...

Is it a set screw for the module? Are the heat sink and pill separate. You have to hold the heat sink while you screw it all into the host so it doesn't twist... Take some pics and post them.

The "box" is normal. From what I understand it is an internal reflection from the laser die itself... -Shane

Many people bring lasers to burning man. I would say keep them in a sealed container with some silicon gel packs in them. Bring distilled water and some microfiber cloths to wash your lens if need be. Have single element lens's on them... Bring extra batteries and make sure you take pics and...

OK as my 808nm pumped frequency doubled 532nm green laser gets hot, it goes from 54mw to about 1-3mw after 2 minutes constant on... After it cools I get full power again... It does not have much of a heat sink and as the whole assembly gets hot the beam weakens and the crystals get out of...

My green gets weaker after a few minutes because of heat...

This is a good post also, he messed up his eyes with a 31mw... Damaged eyes?
