    PT54 - 13A LDO Current Source

Sweet, Got it working this morning! Dont have a heatsink for the mosfet yet :eg: After running it at 12A for about 30 sec one of the wires going to the mosfet desolder itself :D Good to know the mosfet is tough as nails, re-atached the wire and its still working lol... time to go find a heatsink

    PT54 - 13A LDO Current Source

Not a bad idea, Ill probably throw in a current limiting resistor on the gate. Dc/Dc converters are too expensive for this build, With DTR basicly giving away The pt54's it can make for a cheap and impressive build. As for the mosfet overheating, It wont be an issue as long as I heatsink it...

    Current Limiting with Resistor only...?

This is not a well known fact but the aixiz boost driver is a voltage source, with a series resistor. not a current source. using a resistor can work, as long as your calculations are accurate The surface charge thing is real, and all batteries have it. it just means that the batteries...

    Requesting Driver Advice

You should know better on a driver that you sell... (and created) Your forgeting the resistor voltage drop You will need 2 batts with a mohgasm

    PT54 - 13A LDO Current Source

Designed a PSU for running the PT54 Led at full power, Here it is: Important: OP Amp - Needs to be rail to rail, or at least have a good voltage swing it also needs to be able to operate properly at ~3.5v Mosfet - Needs to have a low RDSon at ~3V Vgs Resistor - the 0.02 Ohm resistor needs...

    PT54 Help

Thanks, but that all deals with the thermistor, I need info on the LED Most devices like this LED would have a rating that relates the case and junction temp in relationship to wattage EDIT: Found it on the Luminus webpage, 1 degree c/w

    Skylaser (laserBtB) PL650-1000

Impressive, How is the dot? Is this laser single mode?

    PT54 Help

In the datasheet the max junction temp is 80c I found the Leds on chip Thermistors B value to be ~3400 and its 25c resistance is 10k omhs Based on that I can find the Thermistor temp But I couldnt find a (Degree/Watt) number connecting the Thermistor temp to the junction temp any ideas...

FS Ehgemus CR123a FlexDrive LPC 650nm

Ehgemus hosts seem to do an excellent job of holding their value, Price isn’t really that unreasonable, he just needs to find the right buyer and a LPM graph would be a good idea... @Toaster - what battery is used? Included? @DJNY - Did you misspell lose to be funny? I didn't get it... @ped I...

WTB 2 identical custom 2 Watt lasers for project.

What will your distance be? at 10in a G1 would be better, but at 10ft a 3 element may be better Is the "Convertible" aspect really nessasary? What I mean is instead of using a flashlight style laser, if you had a lab style laser made with a fan, you could have a lighter laser, with an unlimited...

    No reaction from www.laser66.com

I placed an order on Feb 7th, It was delivered a few days ago, Ive allways had good expierences with laser66

    Calibration Laser weekend project

I disagree with basicly every thing you just said wow... Even broadband coatings are not perfect, that's why when you buy a professional meter, they calibrate it at a specific wavelength The laser Laserbee talked about is a diode laser, google it... there is a 5c difference between my diode...

    Calibration Laser weekend project

I'm sure your right, an 808 probably would be easier, but who on lpf wants an lpm calibrated at 808? I would rather my lpm be as accurate as possible at 445nm. Laserbee said he has achieved over 99.9% stability over a shot period of time, without optical feedback (15w/15w+-3mw) long term...

    Calibration Laser weekend project

I chose a linear driver because I believe it will be more stable for my application. Remember, the main reason a linear driver drifts is because the set resistors. They have a rating something like 200ppm/degree c That means that when they go from room temp to 75c a 1% error is created the...

    Calibration Laser weekend project

Just finished running it for a few hours, Diode temp settled about 3c below ambient. To give my self a little wiggle room ill program my microcontroller to hold the diode at 30c

    Calibration Laser weekend project

Your mixing up thermal transfer with satiability, My diode could be sitting at 60c, and if it stays right at 60c, the diodes power output is going to be stable... That's just an example, Im planning on running it at 25c, but we will see. And there is nothing stupid about the size of the...

    Calibration Laser weekend project

It will have a fan, but it shouldn't need one usually. That heatsink should be able to passively dissipate 15W... But in a warm room it may have to kick on.

    Calibration Laser weekend project

Very cool, (Literally lol) Ive always wanted to do a water cooled Laser, but never had a laser powerful enough to justify it a few years ago I had a water cooled computer, do they make water cooling equipment for lasers? or did you repurpose some computer water cooling gear? fun stuff

    Calibration Laser weekend project

Ya aixiz didn't do a very good job with these heatsinks, but I knew that going in, I wont have any trouble keeping the diode cool, even with nonideal thermal transfer... Ill keep those in mind, they look good. but I'm not waiting on something from china for this build, IIRC its new years over...
