Pioneer 8X BDR-203BKS Beam Visability Comparison

Any chance you have a circuit diagram for this fancy driver of yours (including resistors and all)? Of if you're trying to keep its construction on the DL any possibility you'd make one for me for some good old fiat monetary system currency?

Harvesting an LG BH08ls20 8x bluray burner

yeah this will be exciting to see some mA vs. mW plots on. Def keep us up to date.

I think i may have killed my 6x

i take a medium segment of solder wire (or any wire for that matter) and short each cap independently. Just make sure a full circuit has been made completing a connection between both sides of each cap individually. The caps on the rockstar drivers are the six black bars lined up along side...

Pioneer 8X BDR-203BKS Beam Visability Comparison

awesome. you guys are making me move towards a $200 hit on my bank account. ramen noodes i guess it is for the next two weeks lol.

Im Buying Blue-Violet 405nm Hand Held lasers

You can most likely pop off the cap and screw the collimating lens to focus it to any point you want. Can you post pictures of your pointer in its current state? may be able to help you out.

Pioneer 8X BDR-203BKS Beam Visability Comparison

awesome! thanks so much. answered exactly what i was asking. I am more interested in the brightness of the beam than the burning power. I think i'll just stick to my 803T's and 6x's then. thanks a bunch pseudolobster!

FOIL WARNING LABELS FOR SALE! LIMITED TIME

ah for real? it is so hard to get metal foils. they sure look awesome too. I tried to look everywhere to find the foil paper to print on and no luck. Isnt there like some kind of special printer you need too? sorry i was so blunt Spyderz. my apologies.

    Sony's 8x BWU-300S

not the right thread to be asking this in but there is no "x" assigned to the 803T. It's original intent was not to be used as a burning diode for coping or burning Blu-Ray discs. It is from two separate drives intended to read HD-DVD discs which are now obsolete, this accounting for its low...

Pioneer 8X BDR-203BKS Beam Visability Comparison

Hey all. So I am very seriously considering investing the $$$ into the fairly new Pioneer BDR-203BKS drive. However, before doing so I would like to know from others who have already completed the build if there is much of a difference in the beam viability to the eye (not a camera) at night...

FOIL WARNING LABELS FOR SALE! LIMITED TIME

I am assuming I got it from the use of the word "FOIL" in the thread title. EDIT:::: Definition: a piece of thin and flexible sheet metal EDIT:::: and then there is this from the first post "at this itime i do not have silver foil, i need to get some but it wont be till next week"

looking for most powerful blueray diode

Yeah. You may be able to find a 6X GGW-H20L for $55 to $70 if you can find them anywhere. I believe Jake21 has some in stock or just ordered a few, but last I checked his group buy was CLOSED. In regards to what Grix said, getting 250mW out of a 6X GGW-H20L would require a AR coated lens for...

FOIL WARNING LABELS FOR SALE! LIMITED TIME

Do you have foil (metallic, not clear) labels in yet? I'd like 20 of them for BR if you do....

looking for most powerful blueray diode

The Pioneer Model BDR-203BKS is an 8x Blu-Ray disc burner capable of 500mW+, although a life test at this power has yet to be performed. $200 at newegg.com [as of right now, 5-20-09] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129037 but you wont find a better deal for power...

    650nm 20x diode at 600ma?

do you have any idea what the mW output is?

A few questions and lots of pics.

haha wow, melting a screw driver sounds pretty intense. sounds like you got a good plan though. good luck!

A few questions and lots of pics.

is the heat sink open on the other side of the module? you may be able to hammer it out with a nail punch of soft metal rod. Since the diode is already dead it wont do any damage other to maybe just the module. Dont hammer a screw driver though because it will likely damage the screw driver.

A few questions and lots of pics.

couple things here. 120mA is on the slightly high end for a long life duration. 110mA is more nominal for a good life expectancy, although these pointers can be pushed way higher with more consequence. In regard to your diode becoming dim... when a diode becomes dim like that it is referred to...

    650nm 20x diode at 600ma?

seams extremely high to me for a 20x. i run a LG 22x at 420mA and have heard of people pushing 450mA. Not saying it isnt possible to push a 20x to 600mA but the life duration would most likely dramatically be reduced. the image below is of a LG 22x open can that died at 590mA in a few minutes.

    Defintive 6X GGW-H20L Thread.

haha. this 6x page has turned into the battle page between the rkcstr and flexdrive boards.
