I really wish that I can put 9mm (T05) diode in there, and do something to increase current feed. This way, I can make cheap 1 Watt IR laser using this as a host...
Chimo, I believe it is a current regulation without PD (Photo Diode) feedback as well.
I manage to make it brighter and burn better by turning the pot clockwise. There is no way to find out exactly how much brighter though, not until I get the LPM-1 from Daedal group buy...
Thank's chimo for cropping my picture and make it nicer :)
Can someone that have better knowledge of electronics help in drawing the schematics from the picture?
Gazoo, I believe that the LD is retained by ring from the back, and I don't know what did they use to held the ring against the...
Re: Highest power Diode
What I mean is highest rated output power of the diode on the mode they are designed for, regardless of the beam size. For beam size, we just need to employ optics to modified beamsize, divergence, etc.
Anyone know what is the highest power diode on their respective package? It is good to assemble some sort of table to refer to, for everyone to keep track of the latest in laser diode development and maybe there is possibility to source those diode for our own project and curiosity :)
Everyone...
If somebody can make this laser on higher power, pulse on a very rapid rate and rig a mirror/scanning device, we will have a laser movie projector!!! Imagine projector with contrast ratio of 1.000.000 : 1, color purity exceeding 150% of NTSC spec, etc :)
It probably be easier to buy old plotter and salvage the arm mechanism. You can rig a laser head in place of the pen, and raise the arm mechanism clearance for it to fit a bit thicker material. This way, you get less calibration, assembly, and programming works to do. This assuming that the...
Pic also include exploded view of how it is assembled. I hope someone can do a board trace, and can help to interpret how the circuit works, how the current can be boosted, etc.
The whole brass assembly are easily removed, as it is only slided inside the black outer barrel. The only resistance...
Yes, driver board as well :) It is very easy to open. The assembly house 5.6mm diode, not 9mm (T05 package) :(
I really hope that it contains bigger diode, since I originally plan to use it as a host for 1W 808nm...
In the driver board, there is a pot that can be adjusted. I don't know how to...
Thank you, I managed to open it with rubber strap. It is held by green threadlock glue, and depend of the amount, it can be easy to open, or it require more than strong hand to make it turn.
I finally managed to dissasemble the whole unit...
Re: ** IT'S OFFICIAL ** Laser Power Meter GB --
I'll send the money soon :) Is the shipping are for Express mail or Priority Mail? I believe only Express mail have tracking and insurance up to US$100 included, and the shipping cost are about right for Express mail as well. Please clarify...
How can you open the plastic between the head assembly and the body (the one which brass ring are held)? Do you know diameter of the diode, whether it is 5mm or 9mm diode? Thank you :)
THe focusing ring are held by small drop of green threadlock glue. You can use standard flat screwdriver to focus the laser, no need to buy special snapring plier...
Re: ** FEELER ** LPM-1 Group Buy
I believe we have reached more than 5 unit now. When this GB started? Can't wait... :D Hopefully we can reach 10 order for these amazing unit...
Re: ** FEELER ** LPM-1 Group Buy
I believe that price are for ND8 glass extender, since the original one are only $10 and it is plastic.
Tony has upgraded those filter to glass since original group buy on CPF, and now it should be able to withstand up to 800mW as per his update in those CPF...
Re: ** FEELER ** LPM-1 Group Buy
Daedal, thank you very much for your elaborate explanation. I believe the complication in the calibration is because it is need to be calibrated separately for each color spectrum, is this correct? Or ND8 filter behave and attenuate the same amount of light...
Re: ** FEELER ** LPM-1 Group Buy
Is there an option to get display with backlit? Can the price be further discounted? Original group buy in CPF for 10 of these unit cost $150 + $16 ND8 Glass Filter + $10 backlit. If we can reach this minimum quantity, is it possible to get the same price? If...
Is it means that it won't be around 200mW average as they originally stated?
Anyway, you do great job in handling this whole ordeal Senkat, and I do really appreciate your persistence for all this time...
