    I'm interested :)

    ** IT'S OFFICIAL **  Laser Power Meter GB --

Re: ** IT'S OFFICIAL **  Laser Power Meter GB -- I can't wait to lay my hand on this Superfine laser meter. Finally, in a month time, I will be able to precisely measure my laser output power :)

    Warn! cheapest green laser pointer

Yes, since you advertise your 120mW as the cheapest in the world ($199), if you send that exact laser to Daedal, he can test it and return it to you. This way, you only lose shipping cost both ways, and not the laser itself...

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

It is false advertising. As Senkat said in his post, the laser diode that this unit use will be at max 250mW, most likely 200mW. 1W red laser diode will output 1W and will draw higher current, most likely in 2.9W range. Also as far as I know, 1W IR diode or red laser diode is only exist in...

NES-SHADES! 3-5 OD! $29 shipped to the US!

I'm try to find shades for red in this price range as well, no luck so far...

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

I'm sure it will be the same, but I'll let G confirm it for you :)

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

I believe that those rating are applicable only to the LED, and not Laser Diode. Here is a Laser Diode example datasheet: http://www.sony.co.jp/~semicon/english/img/sony01/a6802894.pdf In those datasheet, sony claim it as 1W laser diode. That is output power, and not input power. Input power...

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

Is is about right if the seller state that 1W is input power. But according to the spec in listing, the seller stated that the laser diode is 1W diode...

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

I just see the ebay pages for specification of these laser, it is wrong. How can direct injected 1W laser diode only produce 250mW power? It should produce close to1W even if they underdrive it to extend diode life.

250mW Red E-Bay Laser for Real?

I believe all reds are directly injected diode laser (At least for pointer class), and not pumped through a crystal like the green, blue, or yellow laser...

    *Possible* Cheap Pre-built LD Driver!

If I'm not mistaken, since this board can supply 6.0V as well, it should be able to drive Blue-ray laser diode as well, am I right?

    ** IT'S OFFICIAL **  Laser Power Meter GB --

Re: ** IT'S OFFICIAL **  Laser Power Meter GB -- Daedal, you bet I'm in :) There is no way I would miss this opportunity to buy the best value laser meter for great price. Paypal has been sent. Sorry about the long response and wait. LPM-1 $160 ND8 $34 Datalog cable kit $10...

    "Glowtorch-type" mod (200mw 660nm red)

Wow! Thank you very much for your diagram and analysis, Paul. Any idea what resistor need to be changed to other value to increase the drive current past 258mA? I would love to get minimum drive current starting around 200mA at minimum pot and beyond that on max pot...

cheap powerful 5mW green laser pointer

I second Gazoo :) I received good service from DX. I just need to return the unit if it is faulty, and I'm getting new one. They even reimburse shipping cost from me to them. Is your laser guaranteed and tested to be at least same spec or higher than the label (as all laser from LaserGlow and...

    "Glowtorch-type" mod (200mw 660nm red)

I know there is something wrong in my calculation. That's why I keep wondering, where should the efficiency ratio fit in those figure? So assuming that the efficiency of LD is 25% (assuming from your data that it is getting the 780mW for 180mW output, and IR LD having the same efficiency lavel)...

    "Glowtorch-type" mod (200mw 660nm red)

Don't really sure yet. The IR diode I'm planning to buy are 9mm (T05) packaging, 1 Watt CW. Assuming that LD voltage are 2.5V, the current will need to be 400mW to achieve 1 Watt. Is this correct?

    Highest power Laser Diode

So what column should be added? I just want the highest rated power for each form factor, so we have easy table to refer to on what is the latest highest power available on the laser diode, especially on small packages that can be used to replace our beloved pointer (T05 - 9mm, T18 - 5.6mm...

    "Glowtorch-type" mod (200mw 660nm red)

I'm just wondering, which resistor need to be change to allow bigger current? Will bigger current cause higher strain to that poor resistor, or it is the other way around, that it will have to "resist" lower current because of the higher current being supplied to the LD?

    "Glowtorch-type" mod (200mw 660nm red)

I think you are spot on regarding the IC type, chimo. On my first one, I can read first and second digit perfectly, and read a small bit of third digit, whick looks like a number 3. On my second unit, the first, second, third digit are barely readable, and the forth digit show up a bit and I'm...

Power needed to Cut balsa wood

Fiber optics was a very good idea actually. Now we don't have to deal with complicated focus, etc, and just need to concern about the vibration. Maybe there is very precise stepper motor that's moves smoothly? Even the plotter have certain degree of tolerance against vibration or the line they...
