    Bad push button

Well, I have had issues with this 200 mw 405nm off and on for a while. Usually it stuck on, sometimes it flickered, sometimes it wouldn't come on. It finally decided to stay off for good. I unscrewed the tube, and then proceeded to bang the open end of the battery compartment as hard as I could...

How is the Navy's "super cheap" Laser Weapon Safe? (To crew, I mean)

Most likely, the laser is one of these two, which can be run in CW or pulsed mode. The exothermic chain reaction between H2 and F2 to yield vibrationally excited HF is the basis for an efficient chemical laser requiring little input of electrical power. Continuous-wave output powers of 2.2 MW...

How to test if UVC LED is working?

I had a friend who worked construction, and he said after bleach, they used a borax solution, as it would help prevent it from returning.

Since it is 9/3, here is the 93rd photo on my computer

China has put laser tech on the restricted exports list

When I was looking at some the other week, the impression I got is saying the total power consumption would be the 20W, and the laser is only the 5.5W

How to test if UVC LED is working?

It should make a lot of things fluoresce, but you will also see the light as well. Might be less noticeable if you got a filter to block anything over the 390, as it probably produces some of that as well

How to test if UVC LED is working?

390 nm is UVA, not good at killing anything, especially being at the high end of the range. UVA is 315 nm-400 nm

How to test if UVC LED is working?

A true UVC would have no visible light coming from it, yet would make fluorescent materials glow. As said above, UVC's come nowhere close to 60 watts, not even 1 watt, and can cost in the thousands of dollars depending on wavelength and power, and many hundreds at the least.

    Dye Laser Comes to Life!

Looks like methanol, ethanol and propylene glycol are all used.

    Dye Laser Comes to Life!

Exciton would not ship to my home. I ended up getting my dye and solvent from Chemsavers. It cost more, but it was the only place I could find that would send it to my home. I got coumarin 30. I don't think I looked at Right Price, I will have to check them out. Thanks for the tip!

    Dye Laser Comes to Life!

When you bought your dye, did you have it sent to a business address? I had a hell of a time finding someone who would sell it and ship it to my house.

Yep, I read it as any lasers, any drones....

    Brand new here !

And the pics can't be too big. Not sure of the rules, but it seems like mine have to be under 1 meg. Welcome, and look forward to the pics!

Guess I know what I will be doing this weekend.

    Pulse laser at 250+ Hz

To turn on and off only, I would think the cheapest choice would be a 555 timer depending on power, or 555 and mosfet to pulse the power supply. LM555 can supply up to 200 mA, and the pulse width can be whatever you want, within it's specs. Basic circuit only takes a few resistors and a capacitor.

    DYE help

I drug everything out just to play around with it. The primary mirror allows quite a bit of 405 to pass through, but it also reflects quite a bit. Fixed a leak at the top of the filter, and as I didn't have much in the way of dye in it, and very diluted at that, I had to mix in some antifreeze...

    DYE help

The jet is made of quartz, so it doesn't bend. The pump will get to at least 100 PSI, so the filter is not plugged. I can try flushing it. I am using coumarin 30 dye, which has a max absorbance at 412 nm, because my high powered laser is a 405, and it has a range of 488-555, with 555 being...

    DYE help

I appreciate it! when I was running it when I first got it, the jet wasn't perfect. I found a piece of black something stuck in it, and got it cleaned out. After that, it looked smooth. I just didn't have a good pump laser at the time. The filter is in a sealed canister I think... So I will have...
